6 Trillion is certainly a lot, but less than what Canada or many other nations have. And as that article says, having the minerals is 1 thing - extracting and selling them is another.

Canada successfully exports nearly 100 billion in minerals every year.

North Korea has been sanctioned forever.
It's changed nothing, and govt officials who have escaped the country freely admit that.
The nk govt has no problems smuggling goods out of the country and cash into it.
Sanctioning further will do nothing.

Imo USA invading nk will create a war unlike anything we have seen in our lifetime.
Russia and China both share a border with nk.
Neither want the Americans on their borders. The Russians have immense armaments built up along their short border.
Within hours of war breaking out, half the population of Seoul will die.

Imo the best thing to happen is a coup that removes the upper echelons of the Kim dynasty.

There's too great a flow of info and technology coming into nk from the outside.
