I dunno average Joe, you may have read some history books, but it appears you're not a strategist. Many conflicts are based on access to resources. Japan bombed the US over oil embargoes and since Germany were pact with Japan, its a reasonable conclusion that barbarossa was instigated in response to, not just for axis allies but Ukrainian bread basket and caucusses oil, for war machine and imperialist ambitions. I'd even argue had Hitler not been a complete control ego freak and let his experienced generals lead strategy, Germany would have won that war. A brilliant mind; crappy strategist and socio path.
Lebensraum- "living space".
The annexation of parts of Czechoslovakia- sudetenland.
Where after Neville Chamberlain waved before all, the peace accord between Britain and Germany. The "policy of appeasement", the one used as today still (may or may not be correct, each is judged on merit), for military build up to prevent world domination by bad men.
And here we are. Throwing facts around, making points. The only true losers are those that died for men/souls like what's being discussed.
As aside, I've noticed how anti communism you are. Marxism/communism/socialism are borne of the same ideal; fairness for all. The wealthy/lords/emperors/kings have theirs; why shouldn't the people? Again, human nature gets in the way... no-one wants to be paid in socks.

We still don't really understand why USA invaded Iraq, or why Canada (Harper's dream) helped the Yanks

Hitler might have had a few things correct, in his disgusting lifetime. But we're not going to ever
answer the question - why Germany attacked Russia - completely. Humans aren't even able to figure

Can someone on this forum answer, if Germany stole Poland's gold or not.
