Sorry, but the automakers have a bit more insight into where the market share is right now and what it will be in the future then politicians trying to garner votes. Rest assured, they have projects in the works that will keep them completive in the present and the future markets. As for the present, EVs still account for less than one percent of the global market.

As for Altmaier being the "most powerful man in Berlin" is highly questionable, but as the author says himself ...
