Stalin's slave/death camps

Post by averagejoe »

Stalin's slave/death camps and he was never accountable for his murderous ways....

Victims of the red revolution: The haunting faces of prisoners worked to death in Stalin's slave camps emerge as 100th anniversary of 1917 Bolshevik takeover approaches

This year marks 100 years since the 1917 Russian Revolution that led Lenin to take control of the Soviet Union
When Lenin died in 1924, Joseph Stalin rose to power and became the Soviet Union's authoritarian leader
Between 1929 and Stalin's death in 1953, 18million people were transported to Soviet slave labour camps
Labourers in the prisons worked up to 14 hours a day on huge projects, including the White Sea-Baltic Canal
By the time the last Soviet gulag closed, millions of people had died from exhaustion, starvation and murder

The dead bodies of political prisoners, murdered by the secret police, lie inside of a prison camp, Tarnopil, Ukraine, July 10, 1941. The Soviet NKVD secret police carried out a series of mass executions against political prisoners across Eastern Europe during World War II. The majority of the killings occurred in Poland, Ukraine, the Baltic States, Bessarabia and other parts of the Soviet Union. The total number of deaths reached approximately 100,000 victims in the span of just a few weeks

Polish families are deported to Siberia as part of the Soviet Union's relocation plan. The gulag held many types of prisoners including political prisoners, a group including not only real opponents of the Soviet regime but also many innocents caught up in the paranoid clutches of the Soviet secret police. In Poland, influential families in conquered states would be forced into labour to help systematically destroy their culture

The chiefs of gulags, pictured above in 1932, were responsible for the forcing hundreds of thousands of prisoners into slave labor across the USSR. Gulag was the acronym for the Main Administration of Corrective Labour camp

The prisoners weren't just for adults, however. Pictured above, young boys look at a camera from their bunk beds at a camp in Molotov, USSR. During World War II, the Soviet took thousands from Baltic States and put them into gulags in the far east. Seventy per cent of those imprisoned were women and children under the age of 16

SLAVERY ALSO IN CANADA?????

Hahaha. Those Ukrainians - always getting slaughtered by someone. Stalin did it. Even Canada couldn't
resist the opportunity to use Ukrainians as slaves.

In selecting detainees, the government confined German nationals in jail-like settings, but German immigrants who had become Canadian citizens were generally left alone.

Ukrainians on the other hand, were treated differently. [icon_lol2.gif]
^ Canada.

I think Canada should pay a few $billion to Ukrainians for pulling a dirty trick like that.

Stalin was a real swine in my opinion. Technically, Russia shouldn't own Crimea right now. But .....
