Oh man. Look middle left of the picture. You can see an Amtrak car on the freeway.

Reportedly doing 80mph when it all went bad. 130kph for the younger generation.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

Watching an interview from the scene. To the left of the overpass there are more cars upside down in the woods. 2 or 3.

Amtrak is the most dangerous way to travel in North America - all they do is derail

A google map of the way the track crosses I-5. It is a keft-right turning bridge to cross the highway.

Seems to be missing in all the online media I've read (but not CNN), is that this was the inaugural trip of a high speed commuter train. Other than some deaths, and 70+/- to hospital, this first trip went off without a hitch.
Bad timing for the governor of Washington, he was just recently visiting with our premier presenting the idea of high speed rail from Vancouver, South.

That Bullet train could end up costing $54 Billion! That's ridiculous.

I read the article this morning and I was trying to imagine what a passenger train crash at 450 KPH would be like. Think about going into a scene like that trying to help the passengers and get them out and transported.
The Amtrack crash was tiny compared to what could be coming.

If this is true, then it points directly to poor rail maintenance.

Mayor warned train could derail
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/globalnews. ... rning/amp/
A,train doing 80 mph in a 30 mph area, is the likely cause . There have been videeo of the train speed limit for that turn and train was going almost 3 times posted limit .
Joe in virginia its your nazi buddy in jail for murder . Not antifa

Re: Amtrak derails, car on I-5 Washington state
track chart prepared by the Washington State Department of Transportation shows the maximum speed drops from 127 kph to 48 kph for passenger trains just before the tracks curve to cross Interstate 5, which is where the train went off the tracks.
More info on track speed for that corner

There is,unconfirmed reports,of a,truck being on the track but that has zero to do with the train speeding in a,slow zone
