2020 might be a "gong show", to steal the name of a cheap, network trash show. Imagine Trump vs Oprah. Two TV personalities with zero previous experience in government. Trump promising to make America great again, and failing to deliver despite having a majority in both the House and the Senate, blaming evil Hilary. Then he'll have evil Oprah to throw dirt at. And Oprah telling the public to "just get along". And the American public will have to elect one of them. The American floundering will go on.

With the election of Trump it will be a long, long time before America is seen as great again. People thought George Jr was great fodder for late night comedy, but Trump has taken funny to whole new level - this one called fear. Only in the United States do actors and TV personalities run the country. What a joke. Still, I think most of us would rather Oprah be in charge of the nuclear codes than some failure of a petulant and imbecilic child. In fact, she might surprise us. Hey, she is a successful entrepreneur who came from nothing and built quite an empire. Donny, on the other hand, inherited all he got from the family's criminal enterprises, and has not been able to grow his fortune beyond what anyone else could have done with that head start and traditional investing. The Trumpettes just see rich and go all google gagga. Just sad!

iirc America already elected an actor to president once, and despite implementing policies that would eventually ruin the economy and cause other damage, Right Winger’s still idolize Reagan.

In politics though, the truth about the leader is that they need to be a leader. Their background honestly doesn’t really matter so long as they are intelligent, understand the law, and know when to defer to the better judgement of others. This is why they have cabinets of experts to recommend the appropriate course of action.

It doesn’t matter whether they are a career politician, a teacher, a mail room clerk, a talk show host, or a comedian. As long as they have the sense to do what is appropriate, what is legal, and what is right, and listen to their experts, they will shine.

Unfortunately America currently has someone in charge who has none of those senses or qualities.

I like Oprah a lot, and would love to see her as president. Even better if she wasn't a Democrat or a Republican, as both parties seem to not know their butts from their elbows right now, and are both awash in corruption, stupidity and deceit. One can dream I guess.
