Now is that smart for this state to threaten a private company ? Just imagine a province trying to mess with the oil companies , what type of outrage would we see there?

Two reactions i see is delta moves from georgia. , and last the gop runs around bragging about tax relief so im not sure where rolling back tax relief is the best plan when the gop is facing a blue wave in midterms .

No, it's extortion and illegal coming from a State politician.

He disarmed a possible church shooter — then the police arrived

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/he- ... im-n851816

Tony Garces was still reeling from his injuries on Tuesday, nearly two weeks after he disarmed a possible church shooter in Amarillo, Texas — and was then shot by police.

Speaking to NBC News by phone from his hospital room at Heart Hospital of Northwest Texas, Garces, 54, said that he was admitted to the emergency room on Monday with a blood clot in his lung.

On the morning of Feb. 14 — the same day as the Florida school shooting that killed 17 kids and teachers — Garces wrestled a handgun away from a man who had entered the chapel at Faith City Mission and threatened to hold church attendees hostage.

<snip>

Blackburn also said the incident served as a potentially ominous warning in the aftermath of the shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Florida, with the president — among others — arguing that arming teachers would serve as a powerful remedy to such massacres.

"If this proves anything, it proves that when a situation is that tense and you've got officers trained to shoot first, and have been told by the law to shoot first if you're remotely threatened, they're going to feel threatened when they see a teacher with a gun," Blackburn said.

"When you have officers who are ready to use lethal force they're going to use it."

But when they're responsible for a Florida school, maybe not. :-X

Police in Dalton, Georgia have responded to a report of shots fired at Dalton High School. The suspect, who according to law enforcement reports barricaded himself in a classroom, appears to have been an armed teacher.

Let’s have even more of this. Or we could just arm all the students so they can protect themselves from their armed teachers.

The Rev. Sean Moon leads the church. He said in a prayer that God gave people the right to bear arms. Moon is the son of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, a self-proclaimed messiah who founded the Unification Church, often described as a cult.

I must have missed that passage

Few citizens owned, or were entitled to own firearms in Germany in the 1930s.[1] The Weimar Republic had strict gun control laws.[7] When the Third Reich gained power, some aspects of gun regulation were loosened, such as allowing ownership for Nazi party members and the military.[4]:672 The laws were tightened in other ways. Nazi laws disarmed "unreliable" persons, especially Jews, but relaxed restrictions for "ordinary" German citizens.[4]:670,676 The policies were later expanded to include the confiscation of arms in occupied countries

Sounds like the congressman is on to something

(CNN) - Samantha Fuentes walks with a cane after a bullet pierced her thigh and shrapnel hit her legs and face during the deadly shooting at South Florida's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

"I want to be a part of Stoneman Douglas and I want to live out the rest of my high school career normally. But there's no such thing as normal anymore," she told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on Wednesday morning, just off school grounds in Parkland.

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Wednesday repeatedly embraced a series of gun control measures, telling a group of lawmakers at the White House to pursue bills that have been opposed for years by the vast majority of the Republican Party and the National Rifle Association.

In a remarkable televised meeting in the Cabinet Room, the president appeared to stun giddy Democrats and stone-faced Republicans by calling for comprehensive gun control that would expand background checks, keep guns from the mentally ill, secure schools and restrict gun sales from some young adults.

*maybe he's getting smarter .....
While the research shows that people with right-wing views tend to be less intelligent than those with left-wing views,
the continued excuse-making and support for Donald Trump indicates researchers have underestimated by how much.
