But so fantastic that it was completely recorded by the camera. I'm not opposed to hunting but doing it in such a cowardly way is despicable.

Dad got 3 months and the son received a 30 day commuted sentence. Dad has a firearms ban for ten years, son for two I think and dad forfeited a truck, boat, guns and some other stuff plus a 9k fine.

Not anywhere close to enough.

Andrew Renner was sentenced to five months in jail with two months suspended, a fine of $20,000 with $11,000 suspended, and to forfeit property used in the offenses. Owen Renner was sentenced to suspended jail time, community service and is required to take a hunter safety course.

Both defendants were ordered to pay $1,800 restitution, the amount set by statute for illegally killing black bears, and had their hunting licenses revoked, Andrew Renner's for 10 years, and Owen Renner's for two years.

It's so tragic.

The sow and cubs that the Renners killed were part of a bear study being conducted by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game as well as the U.S. Forest Service.

Because the bears were part of a study, their den was under video surveillance, and the two were caught on camera killing the bears.

These people are obviously sick in the head. Getting enjoyment out of killing an innocent animal, you've got to be some kind of messed up. I feel the same about anyone who takes part in any kind of 'trophy' hunting. You have to have a screw loose to purposely go out and kill an animal for what amounts to basically no reason at all. Or 'just because I can'. Absolutely makes my skin crawl. Put me in a room with these guys and I'll show them what happens when things fight back, I'm so angry right now!!!!

That’s not hunting. It gives hunters a bad name. They are useless human beings that IMO deserve exactly what they gave those animals....
