Cashless society... you in?

I tried to pay for my lunch today in cash. I was politely told that they don't accept cash, so I had to pay with my Visa. Our society is slowly moving to those in Asia and Nordic countries that have cash as the outlier and CC or debit machines as the norm for purchases.

My thought is this: The smaller countries are going first. As test subjects. India, Kenya, and who knows where else next.

We're next.
Using cash is one of your few forms of privacy: use it or lose it. 1984 isn't the only Orwell novel that needs to to made fiction again.

I am just curious.
If they outlaw cash, what would people use to bribe our politicians?

Goods and services.
Or "services."

The Tampa Bay Rays baseball team just went cash free last week.

Was at the stadium the other day watching an MLB game vs the Yankees and none of the concessions took cash

Ya it's going to be a slow invasive practice to slowly close cash down but there you go, one bank and one concession stand at a time.

I forgot my wallet in my car, so I paid for my coffee with my smartwatch.

Rather convenient.
