Re: The evils of Facebook....
I have a question for all you use FB:
I have never had or sign-up for FB, but friends have been emailing asking if I've caving in and sign up I said No. So googled my name and surprise I have FB account.
Here is my question: I've been trying email FB to have it removed, just to find out I need a FB account to get in touch with FB.
So what other means is there to have this removed???
What the hell

Well, what makes you think it's yours?

I agree, Gordon is unusually rare name.
But with 800 million users online, chances go up.

It's combination of first & last name CA.

I thought my name was unique in its combination and spelling too, but lo and behold there is one other person, and only 1, on FB with my name and this person lives in Abbottsford (so close), we contacted each other and had a good laugh!

Doubtful - I mean, someone could use it as a fake name, for starters. (I did that myself when I used to have a FB account. Used to.)
Regardless, your name isn't copyrighted or patented, plus the account is the sole responsibility of whoever created it, so there's no reason for FB to take it down based off of "hey that's my name!" alone. (only reason I can think of would be if it was being used as a defamation of character etc.)
Your bias suits you.

Put your name in google search, you might be surprised.

I'd never use my real name on Facebook anyways. There are way too many weirdos/coworkers/people from the past looking to find dirt on anyone and everyone.
I use my first and middle names, so there's 399 of us (so far) with that name combination out there. I either add the contacts I want, or someone can find me thru mutual friends, but that's it. Even if you use my very common first/middle name combination I have my privacy settings set to where you can't find me. The combo is still recognizable enough for a true friend/contact to figure it out. Despite my privacy settings I didn't want people to readily be available to search me via mutual friends. It's still possible, but my number of random friend requests has dropped drastically.

Use a Chinese, Russian or Muslim name, but never your own. Works nicely.

My co-workers and I have lots of laughs and share lots. I don't need to share on Fb too. None of us are on each others that I know of, and no one asks. I call it mutual respect.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

There are many people out there with the same name. I've learned this while searching for friends on facebook, and finding seventeen of them!
