You know where you're teenagers cruise around in facebook, but do you know who contacts them?

A new low in my opinion, for facebook, not that the company can control this behavior, but that someone in an escort agency said, "I know, instead of using other teens to recruit, or cruising parks with puppies, we'll cruise facebook."

Sad sad sad.

What does Facebook mean to you?

Endless chatter? Gaming? "OH LOOK, I won England!"

Or Community?

I'm finding myself spending less time here and more time posting seemingly endless photos of a cumulative three year roadtrip spree in community interest based sites.

Butterflys?
Morocco?
DIY/Gardening?
Ghost towns?
Heritage?
Entire areas of BC and Alberta represented on a travel/leisure fb site?

YUP. And yes, it interferes with Netflix and TV.

It is my tv. Only I'm programming assistant.

Facebook is a means to share and communicate with friends. I don't miss it when work, travel, or other busy-ness takes me away from it, but I do enjoy catching up when I've been away.

A very good article about the evils of facebook.

I happen to believe that fb is just another tool for our lives, and it helps in some lives by enhancing knowledge, but for others it inspires negative emotions.

Now that is evil.

How much are the owners worth?

Now for more fb evilness. Just the other day I had a fb chat with a friend, pming it all the way.

Just today fb comes up with, get this, a survey asking how well I know so and so. And there is a check mark list ranging from "very well" to "not well at all" and everything in between. They want this info to let them know if they should include said persons posts in my timeline.

And there is no "MIND YOU OWN BUSINESS" on that checkmark list. :purefury:

Really? Facebook is providing you with a free service that no one is forcing you to use. You otherwise seem to enjoy what it offers.

They're not asking you for your SIN # for cripes sakes.

Just another reason not to sign-up to FaceBook.

Which I'm not a member of :discodance:

One of the addicting evils of fb is that there is so much stuff on there that I LOVE! Travel? Yup. err, gardening stuff? Yup.
Place to sell stuff? Yup, the Okanagan has one of those or two. Photography chat? You bet.

But hands off who or how well I know my friends!

Yes, they have all kinds of info on me, and they sell it, big hairy deal. But back off on who I'm pming and the surveys.

I find facebook is really good at pointing out all the gullible people that I've known over the years...

The sheer amount of gullible people thinking they were entering to win a million dollars from a lotto winner... HAHAHA

How gullible can one be!

The new one is the "100 MacBook Giveaway!" asking you to like their page, therefore giving them a DATABASE of gullible people!!!!
