Check your back alley

Postby Queen K » Aug 1st, 2010, 1:34 pm

When was the last time you checked your back alley?

Just yesterday I fortunate enough to catch sight of an orange object, we got the gate key and took a look, here is what we found:'

In a ziplock bag, a socket, coated with resins
Under my wooden fence boards, an operational BBQ lighter
A dayglow orange wastepaper basket filled with water
And in the water, a giant Pepsi bottle, cut at the bottom with tin foil around the top

Yup, all drug parphenilia a back alley druggie needs.

The water was not contaminated in anyway, looked fresh and clean, new

And the final touch? The two young kids who walked through as soon as we cleaned it all up.

Black shirts, dark pants, short dark helmut hair, lean to the point of skinny, carrying skateboards. I made a concentrated effort to be in their faces with a big, "HI there." They weren't walking together in the first pass but had picked up a guy coming back, so now there were three of them coming back in under 10 minutes.

Three weeks ago we had found a "tag" on our garage and we immediately covered it up. Who knows what it could mean. Last time I found a tag on my garage we had been broken into within 3 months.

Check your back alley.

i had the gas taken from my lawnmower which is behind a 10 foot fence in my back alley. they once raided my car too and pulled apart everything looking for change and drugs but left my leather jacket. it certainly feels invasive.

The back alley behind me is like the busiest road in the area... A line of rental units. I'm pretty far away from the rest of the city so its just the stupid drunk suburban kids who are around here

Wow, where do you guys live? I lived in Rutland for the last 6 years, and didn't ANY drug activity and have never been tagged either in our alley.

All I'm saying to people is get off the sofa and go have a look see in the back alley.

I noticed dried out weeds (no pun intended) and thought, ya, one smouldering ciggie butt and my whole place could be engulfed, so we cleaned them up too.

Which area exactly? My friends lives very close to the St.paul area, I have left my truck there dozens and dozens of times and never had a problem. Drunken bar folk might pass through, what do you think they're smoking in these contraptions? Curious is all.

I'd say hashish. The resin on the socket smelled like it. Funny how the socket fit perfectly in the bottle's opening.

And just so people know, I went through a phase where I had a friend on Hein Road, my car was never broken into either.

Wouldn't be too concerned with hash smokers, it's the rock that makes people steal and act out of the normal.
