Re: POLL: Marijuana
Ha, ha, I love that this thread continues... I recall arguing it here in 2010. Glorious to see the changes in the States but drats, BC needs to make some big moves to even hope to have a chance at protecting the potential value there is in our 'BC Bud'
economic woes to come

Re: POLL: Marijuana
What does this have to do with Obama? He neither put the issue on the ballots nor voted for them.
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

so... um... why is bud illegal?
Interesting side note, I read in the paper a while ago about gangsters in vancouver using oxy and saying it helps them feel numb and not feel guilty over the brutal assaults and murders they commit. Even when misuse helps people be violent sociopaths, misuse still isn't a reason to ban it. I guess we already knew that though from alcohol.
Also read something recently that said deaths from legal drugs were happening as often as from drunk driving and in most cases the person had a full time job and they assume the death was from taking 1 too many or a bad combination of legal drugs. As long as something that's known to be harmless (bud) is illegal, people will think that all legal drugs are even less harmfull and innocent people end up dieing or getting addicted to dangerous drugs because they expect the govt to ban it if it dangerous. Legallize everything and maybe people will smarten up and see all drugs as what they are, drugs, none of this 'my drug is legal so it's not a drug' bs.
Federal laws don't allow regulators to simply ban a drug just because some people abuse the medication, Aglukkaq told a news conference.
"The law does not permit approval to be withheld on the basis of misuse," she said, asking the public to also consider the needs of patients with chronic pain.
