Which and whose "lord" would that be? Whoops, guess that's also another thread :D

Like gawd, only lord. Lord have mercy = God have mercy

etc.

So I just asked which and whose lord?

There's so many to choose from :D

Sorry, Libelle - I was just being my usual anti-religion, snarky self.

Why GF that would be my Lord. Is there any other? My Lord is the best, He is ONLY Lord that can get you into Heaven. :hailjo:

If you're using lord to be synonymous with god then yes there are many
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

But, of course is it. How silly of me to consider there might be other ones.

I know of another religion that does the :hailjo: thing. They get a bunch of virgins when they go to their "heaven". Do you get them, too? What good is a bunch of virgins to a female, anyway? What do the ladies get when they go to their heaven?

You mean the generic "you", right? You don't mean me, per se, right? Dontcha have to believe there's a "heaven" before you can go there? LOL

I wasn't speaking of casinos or the race card. I was merely pointing out that being "Born Canadian" and "Canadian Customs", when referring to the religious expression of various holidays, can be rather far-reaching. If one wants to bemoan a segment of the population for not saying "Merry Christmas", than that same person better be prepared to express the same sentiment for Hanukkah, Deepavali, or whatever celebration-du-jour you might observe. Heck, I have no idea what first nations celebrate, if at all, for the winter solstice (and if somebody does know, please enlighten me!).

Before bemoaning the removal of the lord's prayer from public schools, one should consider the reaction to people of other faiths praying in public schools (Like this).

The point I was making was that nobody is taking away your right to celebrate, but it seems that capital-C-Conservative-white-Christians seem to have a problem with others celebrating publicly, as somehow they have this erroneous notion that Canada is purely a capital-C-Conservative-white-Christian nation with absolutely no other heritage.
I'd like to change your mind, but I don't have a fresh diaper.

(and I am not solely responsible for that picture - it was PMd to me in response to my question above)
