Has he been convicted? Accused but not convicted. Funny you all go on like he is a murderer but in fact at this point no evidence supports that.

More easily said than actually done, which is why it occurs so rarely.

I appreciate that we live in a country where most people aren't driving around with guns in their trucks to avoid this.

It wasn't in his truck. He allegedly went home, which was very close, to get it.

Not only in Texas. Islamic extremists also glorify revenge killings.

well they got 1 thing right anyway.
i would not call this a glorifyed killing, it was not preplanned, some *bleep* drunk driver killed this poor mans two sons, I am sure he would prefer his two sons still being alive today

... and murdering the drunk who killed his sons accomplished what besides revenge ?

You can justify murder by whatever means you want. It is still murder.
Others have just moved a little bit further along the evolutionary scale.

Not that I condone what he did but it will prevent the possibility of a repeat offender.

The courts can't seem to guaranty that.

It will only guarantee that one person does not reoffend. As shown in many previous discussions on the issue of capital punishment, statistics show it is no deterrent to homicide being committed by others. I would hope that principles of both specific and general deterrence would be reflected in sentencing (something I agree we can improve on), but let’s not be confused that the only real thing that was accomplished in this case was vengeance – a very popular concept in Texas.

That's true but a homicide is a bit different than a drunk killing someone.

How many times do we read about drivers with more than 1 DUI on their record. We need a foolproof way of stopping them.
I know, that's a pipe dream .
