Here's a good example of a multinational corporation
they put 50% sugar into their cereal
then trick some kid into telling his parents to buy it - because of a ten cent plastic toy.
kid ruins his teeth. Gets fat. Corporation makes $millions. Weren't the 70s great?

So its a corporations fault for a parent not being a parent? Adults have the ability to say "no" to their children, not matter how loud they scream and hard they kick - it always has been and always will be their responsibility to be parents.
The only "tricks" are from yourself, trying to convince people that its the fault of some "evil" corporation that people can't make responsible choices for themselves.
Funny thing about about Cap'n Crunch - interesting how so many of us (myself included) were able to eat it and never have any dental or weight problems - maybe it really isn't the product - maybe it actually is you.

Tricking kids into eating more sugar should be a criminal offense.

People constantly looking for someone to point their finger at for their lack of judgment and poor decisions in life should be a criminal offense.

Not weird but for a few years there was this huge fascination with Truckin and CB radios.
Maybe the weird part was that there was some money to be made in it.

Goofy movies/songs helped a little:
As well Smokey & Bandit
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

"Weird" is pretty subjective anyways...and could describe the 70's in general so why not...

Mostly from the 80's but started in '79
Don't know if it was shown in BC back then but we sure looked forward to this every week:
Some critics' response to the first season:
Possibly they watched a skit with a young Rowan Atkinson as a speaker at a Conservative Conference on the topic of immigration and Crime:

Some critics' response to the first season:
"...nice try - but don't bother again !"
"...disgusting !"
"...rarely have i seen a program containing so much violence and hatred towards society in general !"
"...It is the most obscene program i've ever seen. If the BBC want to corrupt the young, they're going the right way about it !"
"...I was utterly ashamed - ashamed and disgusted by Not The Nine O'clock News."
