That's an excellent video for a number of reasons. Most importantly, the woman speaking is a left-wing liberal feminist, which gives what she has to say credibility with those who dismissed the OP out of hand, likely on the grounds that it might be some sort of right-wing conservative propaganda site.

Am I allowed to dismiss it out of hand regardless of whether it is left-wing or right-wing *bleep*?

Cuz that's what I'm gonna do.

Sure. On what grounds?

Banning and blocking porn isn’t going to be the answer.
So the goal should be to make better porn, more widely available.

Because of technology, pornography has become a major issue of our time - affecting relationships and adolescence. The School of Life announces (towards the end of the film) a new initiative of its own.

Addictive?
I just realized the above video says 3 out of every 10 internet searches are for porn.

LOL No! I subscribe to the School of Life channel.

I think excessive watching of porn is just a symptom of whatever condition some people are experiencing. So people who can't seem to find a natural normal sexual experience with a real human being (however quirky that may be), maybe have difficulties connecting socially with other people, turn to porn to fill the basic human need. I don't think can ever really fill that need because people do need a personal human connection. So it's like eating potato chips as an entire diet, you may not be able to stop at one or two, so you eat the whole bag and still don't have adequate nutrients in your diet. There are so many people who can't seem to get their personal lives on track as far as relations with a sex partner, and it's not easy in our society. No arranged marriages for young people which certainly seems to be the solutions in some societies (not that I am endorsing that approach). it used to be in smaller tight knit communities, with a strong religious base, that young people had opportunities to connect with others of similar background, a built in sort of speed dating. Now young people are often set adrift, far from family and friends, living amongst strangers, and have to be socially withit or just determined to find the right mate or mates. At any rate , it seems to be a miracle if someone finds a good match. Porn is just the quick and dirty (pun intended) effort to accomplish the same thing, but in no one comes even close to accomplish that. and in fact is more likely to take a person away from the human connection, unless they can find a partner who is also happy with that activity. Too much of anything is a bad thing, if you ate apples all day instead of engaging in normal varied activities it would also be a problem. But for those who just can't or don't want to find a happy relationship of some sort with another person, there are possibly worse things they could be doing. Unless they lean toward more violent stuff and then I think they really could be heading for trouble.

It looks like older amateur couples could be the most popular porn stars in Australia.

But I'm not sure their children or grandchildren would be turned on by watching, or schoolyard sharing what mom and dad or gramma and grampa got up to down the hall.
Hey! Maybe that's a solution similar to what The School of Life is proposing above. Ban the rest.

Back to business.

Here is a metadata research study report on porn addiction that I just found by cutting and pasting a lead from a bibliography in the article glacier linked in the original post.

This also speaks to I Think's reply at the beginning of the thread: below glacier's post.
As well as to Siverstarqueen's above ideas.

The last few years have been ground-breaking in this in regards to this research and that is why so many people are concerned about the easy availability of all kinds of porn to tweens and teens.

http://www.socioaffectiveneuroscipsychol.net/index.php/snp/article/view/20767/29179

Here is the metadata research study report on violent porn and the potential for its regular users to commit violence after watching it that supports the above Gail Dines video as well as the one of her's that I posted on this thread way earlier.

http://www.researchgate.net/publication/257663668_Pornography_Individual_Differences_in_Risk_and_Mens_Acceptance_of_Violence_Against_Women_in_a_Representative_Sample

Interesting how earlier on in the study it says that an earlier study says the average time in youth, both for males and females, between starting to regularly view pornography and having sex with a partner is 2 years. But for males it also goes for committing sexual harassment.

The School of Life video Better Porn above has a different idea than Dines does to attack this problem, but they both hope for the same results.

Please watch the videos to see what the hope is.
