Teaching Toddlers About Gay Pride

This day in June…
Parade starts soon…
Rainbow arches…
Joyful marches!

In a wildly whimsical, validating, and exuberant reflection of the LGBT community, This Day In June welcomes readers to experience a pride celebration and share in a day when we are all united.

Do you think toddlers should be taught to experience a 'gay pride parade?'

Sure. Embracing diversity and seeing how different families are formed is great. Do you think the book is about bum sex or something?

Who cares what ones sexual preference is. What is their to teach? Things like the above turn something that is not an issue into one IMO.

I think some gay people don't even go to gay pride parades because some of the participants and their behaviour just perpetuate typical gay stereotypes.

You've probably never been to a gay pride parade, then.

The book teaches toddlers that gay pride parades are 'cool.'

Want me to post some gay pride parade pictures?

Why would anyone want to tell
toddlers that gay pride parades are 'fun?'

Well I think its a pretty good solution to those anti-gay folks who always say "what am I supposed to say to my children when they see gay people on the street". Could also be useful for someone who may have a gay/lesbian family member and have to explain it to their child. Nothing wrong with teaching children about love and acceptance.

Have you looked at any childrens' books lately or the kind of activities little kids do in school? If there's a family involved somehow, it's always a husband, wife, kids.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with telling kids a man can be married to a man, a woman to a woman, etc.

Because they are fun.

Go ahead and post these pictures. I'm sure you spent a lot of time finding the worst ones possible in order to demonize gays. It's always fun when people try to do that....

I would be interested in seeing some of these pictures too... The "worst" I have seen in some barely dressed ladies and gents (nothing I haven't seen straight people do) dancing, enjoying and celebrating love.
