Agreed. Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year. Yes it may be pretty commercialized, but it doesn't have to be. Presents can be minimal or non existent if you wish.

I personally love the music (and I worked retail for 8 years hearing the music everyday, all day for two months) and the decorations. It is so festive, and it is great to see the community (for the most part) happy. I love decorating up my house with decorations I have had handed down from my mom. Spending time with my friends, family and getting to start putting on my winter weight with gingerbread men, chocolate and wine.

Couldn't be happier with it snowing outside, the Christmas tree up, the fire place on and I got a buzz while watching "Elf" with my boyfriend.

Don't you mean the "Happy Holidays" tree ? Or "seasons greetings" tree ?

You may be offending someone..

Someone has way too much time on their hands to be offended by a word. They all have the same general theme behind them. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings, Merry Xmas. There are a lot of Grinches in the world who get uptight over the silliest of things.

My word, doesn't the year fly by? One minute its Come All Yea Faithful, the next your flat on your back in the sand. Its hard to tell which one enjoys the most.

I think we have to look at those who are offended by "a" word...

And then ask why ? This is Canada after all .. Are we not all free to "celebrate" what we want too ???

I like pretty much nothing about Christmas, as to me it represents lies and commercialism. I also can't stand the songs. IT HAS NEVER OFFENDED ME that people wish me or anyone a merry one. I feel the way I feel and others feel they way they feel. Free will. Free country. Free speech and freedom of religion or freedom of having no religion. No offence taken.

Si, but the root is around birth or birthday.
In Mexico it translates as happy christmas.
