Well, we could have a whole thread as to why some women don't have children, but for me, the eco-system wasn't a factor.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Hey Queenie, did you hear of the Swedish politician who has proposed to mandate employers pay their employees 1 hour per week for sex to help stem the declining fertility rates... http://www.npr.org/2017/02/25/517181395 ... ks-for-sex

So, looking at Queens chart, if I had (My wife and I had) two children in the early 90's, which one only counted as 0.5?

Based on any chart that Queen supplies, the male.

Re: We won't save refugees by destroying our own country
Apologies to "GenesisGT" I did in fact derail this conversation.
The title is kind of self evident. We won't save anyone if we destroy this country.
We won't save anyone if we destroy the planet.
How to help refugees is another matter. A two step problem.
1) Stop creating refugees. (political)
2) Money. (political)
For part 1, I am not sure... heat tends to make people crazier and people are already crazy.
For part 2 you just need a "Really Big Bank™ ". All our money is just made up anyway, build a bigger one. We have the tech to turn the Sahara desert into a paradise. Solar, desalination, pipelines, earth moving equipment, all things we already have. We haven't built them on that scale yet because no-one has paid us too.
As for letting 10 million camel farmers into Canada, I have reservations. Camel farming is not really a thing here. It takes time to adapt to this climate. Many of those millions could probably pick up subsistence farming but their land grants (or affordable land) are borderline arable in a good season. They may need to draw from that new Really Big Bank™.
See? World peace™

Who knows what these asylum seekers have been told?
Well, we do a little, JT announced that "Canada welcomes all refugees"...
Maybe they thought that all they had to do once crossing the border was walk up
to the first house you see and you will be 'welcomed'.
We know from some instances in Europe that some refugeees/migrants have gotten pretty uppity at times.
