Re: Pets and heat
What upsets me is having to tell people this in the first place!
I got Married because I was sick and tired of finishing my own sentences.
That's worked out great for me!

Exactly Bsuds, absolute total lack of any common sense.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

If its too hot and uncomfortable for you, its even more so for your pooch.
Nobody wants to hear your opinion. They just want to hear their own opinion coming out of your mouth.

Re: Pets and heat
It's already started.
We were at an event in Osoyoos yesterday and sure enough, someone came to the announcer with a license plate number and info that a dog is in distress due to heat. Now there was no excuse whatsoever for the dog to be in the car. Lots of people had their dogs on leashes at this dog friendly event. No excuse whatsoever.
Why oh WHY do dog owners have to told this year after year after year? Like is THIS the year I can keep my dog in a hot car in Osoyoos? Or was that last year?

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

WARNING:
If you are stupid enough to leave your pet in a hot vehicle and they are in obvious distress, I am going to be stupid enough to smash the windows out of your car rather than wait for help to arrive.

And the Stupid don't leave it to just dogs - children are now dying from heat exhaustion too. :(
I haven't failed until I quit.

For once I am with Graham, say goodbye to your window. Sooner the trouble for me than watching a dog or child die.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

Re: Pets and heat
On hot summer days I put my dog in a cage locked to the bumper on a nice grassy spot, with an umbrella and water. hmm,,, I wonder what the legalities are regarding running your vehicle unattended.

Re: Pets and heat
I don't get why this is a topic every summer. At what point can it be said that everybody, and I mean everybody has heard the message that it just aint safe?????????????????
The answer is probably already but the really sad part is that there are some who JUST DON"T CARE OR THINK THAT THE MESSAGE IS REAL..
That is why we should have a shoot on site allowance rule. Seriously. It would solve a lot of problems.

Re: Pets and heat
I take my dog everywhere including to work its not unusual for my truck to idle 4 or 5 hours with the ac on but she would rather be hangin with me when its not real hot she just hangs out with both doors open water and shade and shes good to go, costs a lot in fuel when its hot but shes worth it.
