My opinion has nothing to do with speaking for you and of course you'd be wrong again. Maybe listen to what some posters are saying about mental illness.

You are right. I'm shocked at how many don't even acknowledge the severity of mental illness.

It doesnt happen just like that . You have to plan against will , and sometimes that fails but you have to act on impulse.if possible try to forcast it .

It does happen just like that - you have no will, not the energy and certainly there's no impulse to speak of for some. There's no forecasting until it's upon you and then the struggle begins.

Would you tell someone with Diabetes to plan or will themselves better? We saw how well that worked for that poor boy, dead at age 15 because his parents ignored the fact he needed medical treatment.

Would you tell someone with a broken leg to plan or will their leg to heal? Just "get productive" to feel better?

Why expect someone with debilitating or life threatening depression to just will it away. Don't you think they already want to get better? If they could just will it away, don't you think they would rather do that, than continue with their current agony?

At 15 repeats, I wonder how well it's working for him, and whether it's cost effective. Of course anything that keeps the patient hanging in there long enough to sort out their problems is somewhat beneficial. But is it the K that is doing it for him, or just keeping him in the game long enough to get therapy, go on medication, or whatever other treatment he is getting. If it's just a warm heart to heart before the infusion, and no therapy to deal with problems, is he going to progress? About 30% of patients get better on a placebo too, so K has to do better than that.

Re: The cure for mental illness

First, separate everyone with mental illness into different categories. Some people can't be cured. Others can.

Then - with the people who can be cured, start early. The drug companies are starting early. they know how to do things. In the Saturday Vancouver Sun, there's an article of some kid who was given ritalin at age three, and now his mental illness is disastrous for everyone. So to cure mental illness, start early, the earlier the better and do everything oppoiste to what the drug companies say to do. if they to take ritalin - don't.

Some mental illnesses can't be cured. I'm not talking about them.

#1 - The first thing to do, is overhaul the food in the kitchen. Get rid of everything loaded with sugar. Get rid of stuff with MSG. Get rid of cheap crap with twenty four chemical additives and preservatives in it. Get rid of junk food. Fill your kitchen with quality food. And prepare all your meals yourself. Get rid of anything packaged and ready to eat. Don't be lazy. And don't be cheap. (For the poorest 25% of people, this will be a problem - for another topic.)

#2 - To cure mental illness, we have to reduce prescription drugs of all types. This won't happen, because pharmaceutical drugs are big business - $billions. But if we really wanted to cure mental illness, that's what we would have to do.

#3 - Alcohol causes mental illness. We need to do something about that - another topic.

#4 - Finally, one out of four women in Canada are depressed? And nearly as many men? Just stay the hell away from doctors, and stop being depressed. Whatever traumatic thing happened, allow some time to go by, and do not start taking antidepressants.

#5 - Find out which kids are going to be damaged by vaccines and don't give the vaccines to those kids BEFORE they get mental illness. Simple.

So there you have it - the cure for mental illness. Some people can't be cured. but many others can be cured - prevention is the best.

Not one cure in this post - not one. And very very poor advice except to eat right (people already know that). Never ever wait to get help as the sooner one gets help, the sooner one can feel better. No point in spiralling out of control to the depths of depression when help is available.

Keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep getting the same results.

According to the Vancouver Sun - 13% of kids in BC have mental illness. All those kids with mental illness will only get worse. The drug companies know that.

Don't be absurd and not true. Interesting you resort to personal remarks so I'll take it you haven't a clue about the subject.

Where's the link? I couldn't find anything to support the Vancouver Sun stating that.
