Another Good Reason to Stop Sleeping Around!

Post by Glacier »

1 in 5 women have it, and condoms don't prevent its spread. And now they say it might be a cause for autism.

Yeah right. This is just put out by big pharma to make everyone think something other than vaccines cause autism.

Definitely something to consider with the increase of ASD (autism spectrum disorders).

The results suggest that maternal hospitalization with infection during pregnancy may be associated with higher risk of ASD.

I saw that study in Nature as well.

Thanks for posting that Glacier. Important findings that should make those who believe there's a link between vacines and autism to check thier own medical history of herpes as a possible contributing factor when combined with genetic predisposition.

Possible connection between these two findings is the link to auto immune system. Possibly the use of something similar to auto immune supressors such as those used by people with aids will one day reverse the disturbing growth in the numbers born with ASD. Not the light at the end of the tunnel yet but maybe some progress.

Maternal infection during pregnancy, has nothing to do with autoimmune disease.
Aids infection is also not an autoimmune disease.
So far as I know, ASD also has not been shown to be an autoimmune disease.
so no logical reason why an autoimmune suppressor would help someone who acquired autism thru maternal infection.
If anything suppressing the mother's or babies immune system could lead to worse infections and their consequences, including higher risk of cancer.

A new study of more than 2,700 mothers of children with autism shows that about one in 10 mothers have antibodies in their bloodstream that react with proteins in the brain of their babies.

Lots of different studies out there and the more they hit the mainstream, the more mothers-to-be may take notice.

RESULTS:
A total of 3325 children were diagnosed with ASDs, of which 1089 had an infantile autism diagnosis. Increased risk of ASDs was observed for children with a maternal history of rheumatoid arthritis and celiac disease. Also, increased risk of infantile autism was observed for children with a family history of type 1 diabetes.

To which mothers would we be giveing immune suppressant drugs (as given to mothers with aids) to hypothetically prevent autism? The maternal immune system is involved in several stages of the development of the fetus, not to mention in protecting mother and baby from disease durig pregnancy. Not sure why you would want to suppress that and risk the consequences. And who do you give these drugs to? Women with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroiditis?

" of rats
or rabbits given AZT during gestation; however, an increased
incidence of late fetal resorption was observed.
Another report demonstrated that administration of AZT to
rats on day 10 of gestation had no effect on the growth or
survival of the offspring (18). The effects of AZT on fetal
growth in a pregnant mouse model were reported by our
laboratory (15), in which we showed that AZT has a dose.
dependent effect in reducing fetal size and number compared
with the effects in untreated animals. Toltzis et al. (31) have
also reported that administration of AZT to mice during
gestation yields fewer fetuses and a greater number of
resorptions per pregnant mouse compared with those in
*
untreated animals. Those investigators further demonstrated
that AZT produces a direct toxic effect on the mouse embryo
in vitro, as determined by inhibition of development of the
blastocyst stage from single-cell oocytes fertilized in vitro.
Although a recent clinical report (27) indicated that AZT is
well tolerated by pregnant women, 3 of the 7 newborns with
hemoglobin levels of less than 8.4 mmol/liter were born
prematurely, and two cases of intrauterine growth retardation
were also observed among 38 infants delivered at term
by women treated with AZT (27). Since fetal liver is deficient
in glucuronyltransferase activity (the major enzyme used for
the metabolism of AZT), the developing fetus would be
exposed to a continuous high concentration of AZT, thus
increasing the risk of toxicity. "

Hrm. Just speculation SQ, if they've discovered that in reaction to herpes or other infections, the mother's immune system is possibly causing autism, there may be a way to prevent it through supression in those that are determined to be genetically predisposed. Obviously not a presciption for everyone and certainly not based on a fb poster's speculation. But hopefully they're narrowing in on a way to reverse the disturbing rise of this disorder with these discoveries.

In the new paper, the researchers posit that a subgroup of women is genetically predisposed to develop intense immune responses to certain disease-causing organisms—like HSV-2—and that the inflammatory molecules and antibodies generated by the mother’s vigorous immune response cross the placenta and damage the fetal brain.

WOW ..........how times have changed since I was younger.
When:
Sex was safe and parachuting was dangerous.

The 3 stages of life were:
Wine, women and song.
Sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
Rum, bum, and phonograph records.

Okay, 4 stages............Now it's.......

Beer, ol' lady and TV.
Computers allow people to make more mistakes in less time than anything since the invention of tequila and automatic weapons.
