Some 142 deer were identified as being habituated back in November, the highest number since the counts began in 2010.

Nearly 400 kilograms of professionally butchered meat was distributed to local organizations after the cull was complete.

The release says managing Cranbrook’s urban deer population through culling and public education remains a city priority.
