I cannot believe the amount of judgement directed at the OP in absence of any objective information whatsoever.

For all we know the young girl could have had an appointment the morning of and this caused her daughter to not be able to walk into class with her mates; she may have thus had to sign in 'late' at the office and go in through the interior door. Most schools require this after only 5 minutes post-second bell. Walk your child into class to make sure they're settled and comfortable -- walking in late can cause a lot of anxiety for young kids, as all eyes suddenly turn in your direction. Now, as for tying her shoes and saying goodbye? Every kid has inside shoes they have to change into... Nothing wrong with sneaking a hug into the mix there; we're rarely afforded that luxury through the hustle and bustle of our mornings as parents ,and this again might help with a wee bit of reassurance.

See what I just did? Pulled a whole new supposition out of my backside that fits the narrative. How? Because we have zero objective information upon which to draw any conclusions -- yet there are so many here. :135:

I think much of the judgement aimed at the OP is because:

1) this is his/her first post, and it was used to target a specific teacher at a specific school. To many, this gives the appearance of having an agenda, not just sharing a bad experience. The way the post was written is alarmist. It seems written to get others riled up.

2) the OP has not returned to the thread to give any clarification on what background, if any, there is to the relationship with this teacher.

I don't disagree with your post; you're being more objective than most. But I can see why many, including myself, are skeptical.

sure, her first post, written in an emotional state, angry quite clearly. I give her the benefit of the doubt- well, that's how I was raised anyway. Perhaps we've all gotten jaded and cynical as age and experience....
Yes, there are 2 sides to a story. But based on my age and experience I tend to think that op was not in the wrong here. I do feel people tend to use thethe words "yell and scream" a little too liberally, myself included.

And final thought. Why would she come back to defend herself ? When she was there while we weren't and was illuminating something not right. To defend against behind called a liar, crazy and basically full of crap. I wouldn't either as a new poster. Sometimes the board is bullying, and again, guilty of that myself.

Wondering if OP will even return to make follow up comments or not. Or at least comment on posts made since there own original post.

it would be nice, but I very much doubt it.
I wouldn't after reading what I have here. It really is the definition of bullying. Ironically, what she was posting about in the first place.

For me, I like a good scrap; sometimes it's taken personally other times I just laugh my freaking butt off at the insanity.

The op doesn'T strike me as a scrapper. Why I give benefit of the doubt. :)

You make good points, and while the cynicism on this board is understandable, it's also understandable that the OP, clearly upset, might take to the forums to vent about his/her experience. And, not receiving a favourable response, decided not to even bother responding. Maybe he/she even forgot about the post altogether. I've stumbled on to posts of my own that I barely remember writing.

I think there's no chance of op forgetting her post. there is one thing I firmly believe And know to be true. There are self absorbed and nasty people that seem to need to put others down to make themselves feel better. I had teachers like that over 30 years ago. Really, the only reason I've responded in this thread was to defend the poster who was being bullied online her self. In hindsight and retrospect, I realize that's exactly why I've posted here. Standing up to the bullies on castanet. Not acceptable in this case. A veteran poster talking politics? Ya sure, be a prick. Been there done that. A mother wanting a little recognition and support from her community? Here's the salient point for me. An agenda seeker wouldn't post libelous info. They are calculated in their direction and words. This mother wasn't, and why I believe her... For the most part- refer to my earlier post.

The only thing you can do if you want your child to continue going there is apologize.Even if you change classes, they will treat your kid poorly . Teacher union gangs are a real thing , even if you change schools the negativity will follow you , you can record them and show it and they will sue you , with union backing . I recommend a private school , since that's where most end up , because they will do everything humanly and inhumanly possible to discredit you and belittle you .

All it takes is one incident and your kids school life is ruined . I'm sorry but this is just the beginning , if you push too hard , they'll even involve child services , they are that ruthless

So either Private school or move or home school

Having been in a similar situation, my best advice is: do not meet or telephone your concern to the principal. Write it out and send it via e-mail. Outline the incident, naming names, dates, and lack of response time. When done verbally, should you have a non-responsive principal it will evaporate and be dismissed. If it is written, I must be responded to and a copy put on the teachers file. I would discourage you from removing your child from the school, and leave her feeling she did something wrong. If you have a rotten administration (and they do exist) it tends to have a trickle down effect. Unfortunately, if incidents are not reported and acted upon, the principal scores 'brownie points.'

Teacher gangs now?lol. I've had three kids go thru the system (and know of many others). Had a few disagreements with a teacher. Never have I heard of or experienced a "teachers gang". If this parent had a bone to pick with the teacher, she should have done it privately, could have had principal involved if she wanted someone to referee, not in front of the children.
