#MeToo

Me too.
If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote "Me too." as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.

Yeah, MeToo x gawd knows how many times

Okay great, now what? Every woman out there already knows that EVERY SINGLE woman EVERYWHERE has been harassed or assaulted at some point so what are we accomplishing here? Is this the equivalent of *bleep* hats? Prance around showing support and walk away never to change anything?

Both men and women need to change this. So how are we going to do that? What needs to change?

I definitely have a suggestion for the men...stop sexually objectifying every single woman! JUST STOP! When you hang out with your bro's and they start blabbering on about random women, saying crude sexual things, how about you DECENT men open your bloody mouth and tell the others' to stop being so bloody disrespectful towards women! You men with the wives and daughters at home that have the playboys and porn on your computer, go and delete it NOW, throw out the playboys, go look at your wife and tell her you've been a pig and you promise to change your ways and treat her as the special woman she is! Going to the strippers while your wife is cleaning the house or shopping? Yeah how would you feel if your daughter is the one up on that stage and your buddies are telling you what they want to do with her body?

And women, ladies..if you think climbing up on stripper poles, spreading your legs is doing ANYTHING to empower women you are complete idiots. You take money to undress for men, you take money to spread it in a playboy, it's all about the money, money, money. How about use your brain instead of your body to make cash so the men don't think the rest of us ladies are here for their sexual relief?

What about the men and women who don't act like that? It's easy to throw out advice, it's altogether different working within the workforce or home life.

This MeToo trope won't by itself stop the flow of sexual violence and harassment, but it will let some people know that this isn't just something they read or hear about...it's happened and is happening to virtually every woman they know. This may seem obvious but there are people who still don't realize it.

MeToo prompts men to examine their own behaviour. Even if you're not assaulting or harassing women, are you allowing hostile environments to persist, because you're not speaking up? Are you dismissing harassment because you see the women who are victims of it, laughing it off? Have you pressured a woman into being sexual, but then thought nothing of it because she gave in?

I think many men can answer yes to some or all of the above.

And what about all the women , who go to great lengths to objectify themselves ? Not talking about strippers either. What about the ones who buy the tinyest bikini , because they think they look totally hot in it ? What about push up bra's ? What about the women who use their looks to advance themselves in life and the workforce ? What about all the older women who hit on me when I was younger and better looking than I am now ? What about all the real victims of sexual assault , who's experience is marginalized by every single woman they know posting "me too" ? Sure is fun to jump on the politically correct bandwagon , too bad there isn't a sign that says "no hypocrites on wagon" .

There's so much wrong with this I don't even know where to begin.
Real victims of sexual assault? What the heck does that mean? Assault is assault or do you intend to define grades of?
Push up bras? Seriously? Maybe to have somewhat of a figure?
What does swim attire have to do with assault? Nothing.
Hitting on someone? Are you talking flirting or were you sexually assaulted? Put #metoo then

Are you seriously going with a "she was asking for it" argument? Wearing a push-up bra negates any claim of harassment or abuse?

I think you're a touch misguided here, Gordon.

MeToo is about the culture of harassment and sexual violence towards women. It doesn't differentiate between "real" sexual assault (I don't even want to know how you're defining it) and other, less violent forms of behaviour. They all count and they're all wrong. The purpose is for women to realize that they are not alone, and for men to realize that this is happening all around them, all the time.

As for your questions about bikinis and brasieres: Women are allowed to dress, and augment their appearance in any way they choose. Men are allowed to notice them, and appreciate their appearance, or not. Men are not allowed to harass, intimidate, or assault them. Even if women sexualize themselves, your private thoughts are your own, but you're still responsible for your words and actions. Nothing a woman does gives a man a license to mistreat her. It's really that simple.

Anything short of consensual between those involved is assault/sexual assault, it does not matter what the person is wearing.
No... does not mean yes or maybe, anyone who thinks this way is a complete f :cuss: a :cuss: hole
