Re: #MeToo
Weinstein (possibly the biggest trigger of the MeToo movement), arrested on charges of rape. He also faces multiple investigations in other jurisdictions which are in the works. The main difference being now, years ago he would have been fairly confident of beating all charges and never seeing a day in jail, where as now, he faces the possibility of being convicted in several different trials. A few years back , I don't think anyone would have predicted these events.

Why did all these people who have either been victims, or feel like joining the victim movement of sexual assualt create a movement called pound me too? They really should have come up with a better name.

If you found a movement, which eventually draws in millions of supporters, you can call it anything you want. I don't see anything wrong with this hashtag, everyone seems to know what it's about now. It's not that difficult to look up why all these victims of sexual assault decided to get their act together and attempt to stop (or at least slow) the onslaught by calling out the perpetrators instead of hiding in fear of retribution for simply speaking the truth. Perpetrators certainly didn't, for many years, seem to be deterred by the flimsy application of rape laws, lack of investigations, lack of prosecutions. So they are trying public shaming (plus a few more serious efforts at prosecution), and they are getting results. Whether that will be enough to make the next potential sexual assaulters think again, or just assault less often, remains to be seen. I should think that the now slightly increased likelihood of reporting, investigation, prosecution just might be enough to make a difference in behavior in some perpetrators. It's worked pretty well for movements against drunkdriving for instance.

So an obviously crazy person has borrowed a term from a movement about victims of assault (none of which are promoting killing or assaulting anyone, they are clearly against assault). This has nothing to do with the MeToo movement. She just couldn't think up a good name for her own little movement (of one).
" she threatened to shoot up a concert so she could start a new #MeToo movement aimed at empowering women to become serial killers."

Morgan Freeman, now denying all allegations of sexual harassment and assault (multiple). And he doesn't want news organizations (CNN) to report news on the allegations either. http://abc7.com/entertainment/morgan-fr ... n/3538782/

His co-stars hardly looked at him as she states. Caine looks down at his own hand. And if someone sitting besides me speaks then I am likely to look their way. His comment is obviously about Caine’s comment otherwise he would just be blurting something out out of context.
These are three old dudes talking to a pregnant woman probably young enough to be their daughter.
And if this turns out to be false will be there be an apology?

Watched the clip first, then read the text. My impression of the clip was as the writer found.

Okay, I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. I thought he was responding to Caine too. I'm not saying that there weren't other instances that he went over the line, just that this sure doesn't seem to be one of them no matter how dramatic the build up to the clip is. haha

Re: #MeToo
If it makes any difference, the woman reporter said that Freeman had said several personal comments to her (before this video) which were along the same lines. Without this one being caught on video, most people would doubt that it ever happened at all.

I find this interesting.
Please watch the videos in full to get the context.
A clip of the Chloe Melas report on CNN:
In this clip, through his lawyer, Freeman defends his comment to Melas (1:19) as TreeGuy, Urbane, and ferri have suggested above.
And Melas gets called out on the Tyra Martin accusation:
Watup?
"Many months . . .," coming unraveled?
Please watch the videos in full to get the context.
A clip of the Chloe Melas report on CNN:
3:02: Chloe Melas (the accuser in the above video) says—“One of the women that we spoke to for this investigation, her name is Tyra Martin, she’s a producer at WGN in Chicago. Now she says . . . that over the course of a decade she interviewed Freeman multiple times and that he always consistently made sexual comments to her, but one time she feels he really crossed the line when he asked her not to pull her skirt down as she stood up to leave the interview. Now it’s unclear if that exchange was ever caught on tape, but we do have an example of some of his behaviour from another interview . . . take a look,” (please take a look at the exchange from 3:33 on).
In this clip, through his lawyer, Freeman defends his comment to Melas (1:19) as TreeGuy, Urbane, and ferri have suggested above.
And Melas gets called out on the Tyra Martin accusation:
2:08: Kate Snow—“The attorneys for Freeman say one of the other women named in the CNN report, Tyra Martin, has since said she was not harassed.”
Tyra Martin—“I’m sorry for anyone that has had an unfortunate experience and feels harassed or assulted (sic: unintelligible to me). That wasn’t my experience with Morgan Freeman.”
Watup?
"Many months . . .," coming unraveled?
