yup, sometimes flats just don't cut it with the outfit your wearing...and hey, if you look good, you feel good and there is nothing wrong with that..lol

and if it pleases your spouse, it's a bonus...cause pleasing each other only helps a good relationship..

Curious...
What do you mean by this?

dirtybiker wrote:I know you directed the question to the OP, my take.
no correct way to answer the question as you posed it.
No matter the answer you could construct blow-back.

I trust you know full well exactly what it means,
and every truthful man and truthful woman knows as well.

Telling your Bestie that she looks fantastic in her new shoes may make her feel better,
but it may not be truthful.

If my hubby said I looked fantastic in a pair of shoes, but was lying to make me feel better, he would be in deep trouble.
As long as we are hoping for women to be truthful, I expect the same of a man. If I was wearing the shoes for his appreciation, it would be pretty useless if he didn't appreciate them.

I often run my footwear choice past my husband. It’s sexy to to be in public knowing your spouse is jazzed about what you are wearing.

I don’t buy footwear often because I have expensive taste ;-)

When you run your footwear choice past your husband aren’t you really saying, “am I beautiful?”

Women asked the same question of their fathers when they were little girls.

I know this to be true of my wife. She’s not looking to be critiqued. She wants to know that I see her as beautiful.

And with a hug and a kiss I always tell her so.

Purses and boots for my wife.

I worked some OT plowing a couple of winters ago, got a phat cheque. So I went and bought her the blundstones she had been dream about. That got me husband of the year when I brought those beauties home. She wears them ALL the time.

I'll go out on a limb here, and say that if the wearer weighs 600lbs for example, then in all probability stilettos may not look very appealing to most people, regardless of gender.

There's a whole bunch of people out there who like larger partners, and might even like them in high heels. Just because that might not be your cup of tea, they are not the "wrong" woman or guy.

1. Why?
Why do you wear them? Because I can, because sometimes they go better with my outfit than flat shoes
Do they make you feel taller? of course
Do they accentuate certain posterior muscles? not on me
Are they beneficial to your posture? I do feel like I stand straighter while wearing them
Are they more comfortable than flat shoes? no, flat shoes are normally more comfy
(I am not complaining, I like to see a fine set of heels on a woman). You like to see a fine set of heels? Or a fine woman in heels? If you like to see a fine set of heels then this likely means you should be buying some heels of your own.

2. Training.
Does wearing heels take training? If they take training then you have the wrong size/fit of shoe, it should feel comfy the moment you put them on or don't even bother with that specific pair
Do they require practice? Same answer as above.
Are they hard on your spine? not the ones I choose to wear
Do you have to develop ankle muscles to be able to walk properly? No, this isn't something I've noticed but I'm not wearing 4 inch stilleto's either

3. Fashion.
Are they worn for the sake of fashion? yes, pretty much the main reason I would wear them
Are you aware of how much noise they make when walking on a hard surface? Absolutely, I hate that noise! I try to walk quietly in heels lol

4. Attraction.
Do you wear them to be more attractive? No, I wear them cause they go with the outfit I'm wearing
Do you wear them to be feel more attractive? I want my shoes to go with what I'm wearing, I don't care who thinks I am attractive, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Does the noise that is being made while walking notify others that you are approaching? It probably does sometimes
And do you know that recognisable noise causes others to look at you and aware that you are there? Perhaps, but I don't think people are turning their heads just at the sound of a pointy shoe, but same goes for people wearing squeaky running shoes I suppose

5. Sexually definitive.
Do you wear them to define that you are female? lol, this is getting a bit weird now. Why would I need to 'define' myself as female? I AM female...my shoes don't define that.
(I know that a man would never wear them).

6. Practicality.
They might look nice, but they are not really practical in all environmental situations.
Does these limitations have any role in your choice of footwear? Absolutely! The ONLY time I wear heels is when I am going to the office for work, so in a 10 hour day I am maybe walking on heels for 45 minutes, those heels get tossed off under my desk throughout the day.
For example:
Snow/slush. - out comes the snow boots!
Rain/puddles. - got rubber boots for these days
Sand/beach. - sandals
Playground/turf/dirt. - running shoes
Sidewalks & streets....pot holes/cracks/storm drains/cobble stones. - running shoes or flats

7. Limitations.
Do you feel limited by your choice of footwear as to where you can walk and how fast you can travel? If wearing heels for sure, as stated I only wear them for work.
Do you feel more vulnerable when wearing high heels? No, not really, I've got a pointy weapon on my feet to smash people with if necessary and if I have to run those shoes are coming off haha
Are you an easier target for robbery? No, pointy shoes make pointy dents in peoples forehead or eyes
Is your ability to defend yourself diminished by your choice of foot wear? I don't think so, I could defend myself equally wearing the heels or running shoes

I am not a healing loving gal. Kitten heals is a close as I get. OT recommends a slight heal at about an inch and to avoid flats. The slight heal takes some of the pressure of knees and hips and the bulk of the energy to the balls your feet.

I say no to high heals.

Power. I felt physically confident in a classic form-fitting navy suit and my 3” Mary Janes. Flats wouldn’t have done it. I know I was looked at; women like getting looked at, so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Smiles = smiles & everybody wins.

Thank you for stating this. The only caveat would be who is doing the looking and how the looking is being done. Looking and learing are two very different ways of seeing.

I love women.

To the OP; Your very detailed post got me wondering; are you thinking of trying this alternative footwear style out yourself? Lot of questions about an unusual topic. Just sayin.
