They are extremely important.

I took the kitty which is my avatar to Sutherland Hills a few times to show my Aunt my new cat. The other residents were over the moon. Some really wanted to see him.

There was one woman rocking and calling out. I have no idea to this moment why I did it but I took Maestro over to her and put him in her lap. It could have gone all wrong. But it didn't. He sensed something, something important and settled down into her lap. She stopped rocking, stopped calling out and briefly placed her hands on his fur. I held my breathe. Seriously afraid someone would interupt, or scare him. But she continued to pet him and I waited for as long as I thought possible before making the heart wrenching decision we had to go. It was a magical few minutes, maybe 10, but cats being cats, I could see him starting to look around.

Some care homes have resident animals, dogs and cats.

[quote="normaM"]Well Alan they can't fly very fast, or high /low /quote]

Any being can fly when they start from altitude.
Some just figured out how to land better than others.

I , personally would be thrilled to get on a flight with an emotional support dog/turkey/peacock, but then I chase chickens around in the woods for fun so maybe I am in need of an emotional support animal?
My rooster Stompy Darling is about 12 lbs of crowing muscles right now, with razor sharp spurs three inches long. I bet I can get him a certificate from the Hokum Online School of Support Animal Services.
