I'm defining an extreme position as one that's so out of sync from the rest of the population that over 80% of the population would like to smack you upside of the head whenever you offer your viewpoint. It might be perfectly reasonable and even true, but the vast majority of the population considers it silly in not an outright heresy.

Here's one of mine: Whenever I read news releases like this, I'm not happy. I'm against improving the plowing of snow because it's a waste of money (in my opinion). I'd rather the money be put into making the roads straighter year round. I mentioned this with a few friends recently, and all I got was eye rolls.

Here's another: I believe that moderate sugar use is good for you. A spoonful of sugar...

Heck, it's ancient wisdom that's fallen out of favour in these modern times where I see idiotic parents spoon feeding their children ASSpertaime. Not only does it have that after taste that tastes like rotten a$$, but it's worse for you than sugar (in my opinion).

Anyway, how about you? What views do you hold that would get you beat up at the next Castanet G2G?

I agree with both of yours though! Snow melts every year but we spend millions fighting it.

I'm trying to think of anything that I do that people have said I'm nuts. The only thing I can come up with is that I don't like to kill anything. That includes bugs. I try to catch any that get in the house and put them back outside. Except spiders. I like them and usually let them stay.

I'd make it that all Canadians would have to serve in the military for 2 yrs either as part of their high school or immediately after. Long enough to either straighten some up or inspire .

Try making it yourself. What the heck are you doing spending hard-earned, after-tax dollars on jam, ordered pizza, breads, canned soup, pre-frozen veggies when so easy to do at home. Save money, save all the trash going to landfills. Reuse your jars. Plant a garden. Get your exercise weeding. You will benefit multiple ways.

Ok, doesn't always work for everyone. I cringe when I see shopping carts loaded with expensive crap...all the boxes and wrapping destined for garbage day pickup. Not to mention enormous bags of pet food while listening to them complain about high price of living. For pity sake, bake your cookies yourself. Ain't that hard.

Why are you purchasing DVDs and books when you've already bought the darn things. Go to your local library. Let them find your selections and store them on shelves for you.
