Underhanded IMO - I would like to know how many others got caught in the same no pay deal as me.

they had a fair bit of consignment product I am thinking 1 -2 dozen people.

And that was just in Kelowna - never mind Van and Victoria.

If anyone else is on here in the same boat - would like to hear from you.

Does anyone know how to get the film back from them? I gave them 5 rolls of film to develop a month ago and now realize they are closed for good.

I left a message about my lens and no one has got back to me.
Not sure what to try except leave a message also.
Probably a matter of keep trying until someone picks up and answers the phone in Van.

Maybe phone Henry's and see if they know what happened to the items left with L&S. They at least are in contact with them.

Not from what they told me when I called the Victoria branch.
They have the phone number for Van that I posted here, but no help otherwise.

Time for asking for newsrooms to help out?
For $500 loss - I can't justify hiring a lawyer.
We need to find out how many are affected to see if we can get a response.

I’m stuck on the fact that L&S web address redirects to Henry’s and it has me intensely curious as to whether there’s something being withheld. I would think Henry’s would want to avoid bad PR only one month after venturing into a brand new province.

Probably time for a few of us to us the contact us link on Henry's and flood them with complaints about not standing behind the business assets that they bought.
Even if it is just perception that they have bought the assets, they need to stand up and give the info out.
Or pressure the L&S owner to do so.

EDIT TO ADD
Henry's Camera has a FB page. Not sure it will do any good or will stay up on the FB page, but hopefully it gets some attention from them.... I have posted the following on it.
---------------
So I have to ask.
You have taken over 2 of the 3 L&S locations from what many of us can tell. Those of us in the Kelowna area are being left high and dry??
The majority of us did not know of the shutdown of L&S and are owed money - consignment equipment - film that was left for developing - warranties - etc.
Personally I am out $500 for a consignment lens that I left there in the spring. It was sold in Sept and no one has contacted me.
The person who bought my lens bought others at the same time so there are multiple people looking for their money.

Is Henry's Camera a stand up company that will assist those of us that are now out money and equipment?
Or are we all just left to hang out and twist in the wind?

Multiple people would really like to know your answer.

Generally they would buy the assets but not the liabilities.

This is true.
But, this was no last second shutdown. I am thinking at least a couple or 3 months run-up to the end.

At least there should have been honesty by the L&S owners and told people to pick up their equipment ahead of closing.
Same with the film developing - it would have cost nothing to call the people who have film sitting there.
2 days notice and anyone who was involved would have been there.

And those of us that are owed money for consignments should have been informed long before now.

I bet had someone rented a spendy piece of kit they’d have asked for it back before pulling the plug.

I just happened to go by the store on Broadway/Granville yesterday. There was no contact information on the doors, just white pieces of paper saying "Closed". I can check again today, maybe I missed something.
