I started this thread for those who want to vent their stress about Christmas, be it having to see toxic relatives or feel the pressure to buy expensive electronics for everybody.

Many people are feeling pressured, the perfect tree, dinner, seeing the right events, and what to buy whom.

That's why the "slay" Christmas part. Not to put an end to Christmas itself, but to end the feelings of pressure.

Merry Christmas. :smt111

I'm saving all the wrapping paper and cardboard for you to mulch into your garden.

Decorations, presents and all the attendant froo ferra means nothing to my family. We gather as many of us that can be there and enjoy a love-filled lunch gathering - chat, laugh, hug, remember others who cannot attend and raise a toast to family who have naturally passed on before us. It is much more meaningful for us than $$presents and relieves all of us of a monumental amount of stress.

This season means FAMILY to us - and that is what is important to US.

Not everyone has family, fortunate you.

I was talking to several people today who are having very very different Christmas' from Christmas past.

But here's an image for those like yourself.

Gifts are in the mind of the beholder, sometimes the silliest thing is the best! A long time ago my brother gave mom and dad their own bricks of cheese. No kidding. I got my childhood toys back. So cool, especially the grey plastic kitten I played with.

What was the coolest gift that made you laugh, if not the most expensive?

I am well aware for many, gifts are part of their Christmas this year, for many different reasons.

No Bpeep, I'm not getting you booze.

I'm talking to myself I guess but here goes.

For all of you who feel pressured. Big Hugs. This is the best and worst time of year. But guess what? See this meme? It's true.

Does anyone really have it all "done"?

I feel very lonely and destitute this season.
I wish everyone I know would come visit me and present me with a monetary gift.
Then leave.
