UPDATE.

THE LIST OF LANDLORDS THAT THIS PERSON HAS STOLEN FROM CONTINUES TO GROW. THERE ARE NOW SEVEN (7)CONFIRMED LANDLORDS THAT HAVE HAD DISASTROUS DEALINGS WITH THIS MAN. WITH NO ACTION WHATS SO EVER FROM THE RCMP. AND ONLY BEUROCRATIC PROCEEDURES FROM THE RTB.

Here is a person we do not need in Kelowna, or the Okanagan, he has been scamming people in Vernon, Kelowna and West Kelowna. He is an artist of the first degree, at manipulating the system to his advantage and taking advantage of people, he has something like ten civil cases against him and 25 Criminal (source BC Courts) this is the same person who conned people in the bottle drive some years ago, he had the audacity to start a go fund me page (since removed) asking for money stating he had been ripped off by a landlord, he claimed that his son had died, that was why he could not pay his rent, this is the same son he threw out two years ago and thankfully living with his mother., the Face Book page Kelowna Scammers and thieves is been inundated with comments from people who have had dealing with him.

As much as I would like to agree with you, I would not like to see anyone homeless, and unfortunately he has a son (17yrs old) with challengers, and he is using his son as a shield. apparently some time ago he (the father, *name removed*) was in a social housing complex, however, he was evicted, (reasons unknown and not published)

This type of concern led to the creation of a Kelowna company called Naborly back in 2016. Naborly provides a tenant screening service that grades the potential tenant on behalf of the landlord. Considering the service is free, there is no reason for this type of activity to continue happening.

I agree, sounds like a great service. This company should be advertising more. It would helpful if the service was also available to tenants too.

I'm quite certain that prospective tenants can request a review themselves, prior to applying.

Every potential rental unit owner/manger from Sicamous to Osoyoos should have his picture.
It's their choice to rent or not to rent to this person.

There really should not be an outcry about long term renters moving to Air B&B or vacation rentals with stories like this.
Thought I heard the fellow mention he has $15,000.00 ? in repairs. How many years is it going to take to recoup that?

Good for the landlords that do have good long term renters, I do hope it stays that way for your sake.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult for landlords to search a potential tenant's record. They can change their name, or get a friend to sign the rental agreement.

Landlords that get decent long-term renters are lucky. The chances of a landlord getting one, is about the same as getting a 20 and the dealer goes bust, when the dealer has an ace showing. The chances of getting the same results when you hit a 16. It's all about hit or miss. Sorry for the blackjack analogizes, but it is a gamble every a landlord takes on a new tenant.

Landlords have to recover their losses by charging future tenants more. Renters don't care about the landlords or future tenants. They are the ones that are responsible for part of the rent increases.

Okay, so what is the cost?
"Quite certain" doesn't answer the question.

I reviewed the link provided and didn't see anything to support that.
