Despite westerners being lectured by climate activists like Greta Thunberg, a study has found that around 90 per cent of plastic waste polluting earth’s oceans comes from Asia and Africa.

During her U.S. tour, Thunberg cited “horrifying pictures of plastic in the oceans,” as one of the primary reasons why Americans should listen to her.

However, researchers at Germany’s Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research discovered that a small number of rivers account for the vast majority of plastic pollution and none of them are located in western countries.

“The 10 top-ranked rivers transport 88-95 percent of the global load into the sea,” Dr. Christian Schmidt, a hydrogeologist who led the study, told the Daily Mail. “The rivers with the highest estimated plastic loads are characterized by high population – for instance the Yangtze with over half a billion people.”

Out of the top ten rivers that produce the most pollution, eight are in Asia and two are in Africa. The Yangtze River in China and the Ganges River in India were responsible for the most plastic pollution.

While westerners are being told to alter their lifestyles and have fewer children to save the planet, virtually nothing is being said about or to the people in the countries responsible for the vast majority of pollution.

This is probably one of the main reasons why many in the west remain skeptical about the true motives of the environmentalist movement.

As we reported earlier, only 38 per cent of Americans believe global warming is man made.

Actually, I was just waiting to post and review today’s event and to see if anyone would reply before I booked off to help with climate week and the strikes at one of my hosting old alma maters.

The discussion goes on, so I’ll leave this thread in capable hands.

My four reminders:

News: FFF Countdown to Global #WeekForFuture September 20-27, 2019

http://www.fridaysforfuture.org/

Here are some general guidelines:

1. Fridaysforfuture want you to only strike in a way, that you feel safe with.

2. Many Fridaysforfuture strikers have a police approval for their strike.

3. It is common for these approvals to only allow for a quiet, sitting protest.

4. Fridaysforfuture are unlikely to be able to provide legal support if there are problems, so FFF advises strikers to liase with local NGOs. These NGOs usually know local lawyers, who are well versed in protest situations.

5. We are a peaceful and quiet striking organisation, but unfortunately we have already seen examples in some countries, where some individuals or organisations try to join a strike for the purpose of causing trouble. Please take care and prioritise your own safety.

. . .

How supporters can support

Many people do not think they can strike, i.e. they are worried about their school grades. The Belgium schools all used clocks which then 'struck' and then took a picture and this was there method to strike on November 30. Other groups have other ways to find a way to strike, even churches have their bells strike! Some empathy strike. All support is welcome.

What Is the Climate Strike? An Adult’s Guide to What, Why, and How to Help

http://blog.ucsusa.org/erika-spanger-si ... ults-guide

How can we help?

If we can, we should strike on September 20.

Find a strike near you, take a few hours, show up. Not only will you be showing up for the younger generations and playing a direct role in the climate fight, you’ll be helping to represent the millions of adults concerned about climate change, many of whom can’t afford to miss a day’s wages, can’t take a day off without risking their jobs, can’t get to a strike, or can’t physically participate. You don’t necessarily need to take the entire day, but if you can attend a strike event in person, do it.

If you can’t join the strike in person, there are other ways you can lend your support.

Participate in one of the many activities during Climate Week.

Support the young activists in your life as they join a strike or organize one of their own.

Donate to the cause.

Talk about the climate crisis: with your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

Amplify the strike in your circles and on social media in the lead up; the organizers have created lots of resources for you to use. Write a letter to the editor. On the day, take photographs and share them on social media.

Just remember, adults didn’t create the climate strike. Young people did. They’re the hosts, we’re invited guests, and we should act accordingly and follow their lead.

From the signs and art, speeches and singing, and the spirit and passion of those on strike, I expect that the day the youth climate movement is building will be something to behold. As happens when strangers gather in an act of peaceful protest, it will be a gift of solidarity that strikers give each other to energize and sustain for the fights ahead. And it can also be that shoulder-shaking gift, given by millions of strikers, to a world that so badly needs it.

There are few moments of truly great potential in this grueling, bruising, too-often-losing climate fight. This is one of them. We need it. By stepping up, you can help make it so.

Find your strike--Thanks to spooker:

Do you expect to get paid for the time you are not at your place of employment?

Does your employer agree with you leaving?

If he does, you for it.....if he doesn't, maybe you will have to look for another job.

That is if you work at one.

Turns out our little fear mongering climate hoaxer is antifa....

Greta Thunberg slammed for posing in antifa shirt

Greta Thunberg has added more controversy to her name by posing in a T-shirt with radical left-wing Antifa movement imagery and calling for a national strike for the sake of climate.

16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg, recently dubbed “Apocalypse Guru”, has sparked outrage by publishing a picture of herself wearing a shirt worn by members of the left-wing Antifa movement.

In one of her recent tweets, Thunberg notified her massive followship that she had released a song with the British indie pop band The 1975. All revenues will go to the climate movement Extinction Rebellion, which has made a name for itself by organising left-wing climate protests in Sweden and other countries.

“Time to rebel”, the Nobel Peace Prize nominee wrote, posting a photograph of herself wearing a shirt tagged “Antifascist All Stars”. Thunberg’s shirt is also adorned with a five-pointed star and No Pasaran caption, (“They Shall Not Pass”), a Spanish War-era slogan popular in left-wing circles.

T-shirts such as this one, alongside others with prints “Antifascist Action” and “Refugees Welcome” are sold in left-wing stores and are widely popular with the radical Antifa movement, associated with violent protests, threats and physical attacks.

Thunberg’s choice of attire has been widely criticised, with users poiting out that Antifa “beat the living s*** out of people” in the streets.

She is being used by people all over the globe......

Hey kids, your hysteria is not my emergency.

Antifa=Nazi - same tactics. One side doesn't like Jews/Blacks or government, the other side doesn't like anyone opposing them about anything including government from the Right. Same tactics - Violence any time, any place.

Nazi equaled National Socialists in Germany...... it has been changed to equal White Supremacists, who number just above Zero.

But the media would have you believe otherwise and imply that they are all around us waiting to beat us down. That is Antifa when they are given their orders.

FF$. I hear they're doing it all over again next Friday. Guess if the world is ending in 11 years, those students don't need an education.

I see MEC is jumping on board now and closing their stores on the 27th. Nice. So what about all the gear they sell that is made of plastic and synthetic materials? How about the trucks that deliver it to all of their stores across the country? Bet a lot of their stuff is made in China. How'd it get here? And the packaging it comes in?

If they care so much, why not start by making an effort there, instead of this nonsense. Wonder if they'll pay their staff for the time off?

It's ridiculous.
