Bumbling Idiots, I think is a fairly apt description of our Mayor, former council and municipal office! If anyone had taken the trouble to read the judges report on granting the former injunction, they would have seen that it was conditional on the new Soil Removal Bylaw, which allowed Peachland Storage to remove the gravel they wanted to, with conditions etc. But as one judge wrote, with the approval of this new Soil Removal Bylaw, the injunction would be unnecessary. However, our former council, with Mayor Fielding at the helm, waited over two years for this Soil Removal Bylaw to receive approval from the ministry, then promptly defeated the bill at third reading!!! Mayor Fielding was very aware when first elected that the Earthworks Bylaw would not stand up to a court challange. Did the lawyers the municipality hired think differently????

So add to tax payers bill, the court costs plus the cost for reintroducing the defeated Soil Removal Bylaw which did receive ministerial approval!!!! Some heads should role, elected officials can only be fired at election time, but other heads should go!!!
