If it's not impossible, it's inevitable. The WFN are building a 21st century trapline. Can that be bad? Maybe we could take a few lessons.

Mayo and Hopkins are not partners. The business partner is from Australia and they specialize in medical tourism.

I expect the casino to be located across the highway once it is built, to service all illnesses. Don't you just wonder a little teeny bit why the government is spending $8m to build the Sneena underpass for them. Just what does the WFN want to build on the other side of the highway once the hospital is completed?

Wasnt your soapbox in the overpass thread? How about instead of stinking up progress we send a letter to whoever is holding the check book ? Because I'm willing to bet the province didnt give the firstnations a do what you want card. Seems to me the province has stopped the Wfn from doing a casino at every turn. So it really makes no sense that they buy an overpass for all 400 of them to drive through. The idea I'm sure Is far more concise and less devious than witch hunters would suggest .

Who cares what they want to build. It's their land.

And your theory for spending the $8.8m tax dollars?

And the WFN theory for spending $8.8m tax dollars?

And the governments theory for spending $8.8m tax dollars?

The WFN has publicly stated that the underpass is to connect traditional Indian lands, and is owed to them by the government. Is that a more plausible reason to spend $8.8m to you than having taxpayers pay for WFN development access? Looking at all the WFN land development along Rte 97, do you not believe that they are in sophisticated development mode?

Perhaps the MLA would like to step in and inform us all on how and why they are spending our tax dollars because it's her checkbook? The MOT issued and paid for the Sneena underpass.

No one ever said that this is a do what you want card. It's a carefully planned and executed 30 year development plan designed to give the WFN an economic support system.

And what really is the matter with that? Give us the divine answer . And please take everything into perspective. Eg. Natural resources , intergovernmental relations , future access , and forethought .

It also makes no sense to build an overpass, for no other purpose at the present time, than to subsidize WIB future development, when there exists a clear need for improvements to traffic at preexisting developments, in multiple places I might add, so take your pick.

Who cares what future plans or visions the WIB has for development, the point is right now there's no justification for another structure, if ever, and let's not forget this is the same group that has a sea of empty commercial space all along Hwy 97, so I'm of the mind that although some foresight is indeed a good thing, just how much more do you build when there's so much already in place sitting empty?

Add to that the fact that the need for that particular structure is almost non existent and it makes it even more ridiculous. For anyone in a vehicle it would hardly be an inconvenience to use the new Westside Road interchange to access the Bluffs area, and with but a little design acumen, anyone could come up with a plan to integrate any traffic from the Bluffs side of Hwy 97 down toward the also existing Campbell Road interchange.

Sure putting in an over/underpass at that location makes it more convenient to access the Bluffs, but let's get real here, the savings in travel time would be what a whole minute or two? Never mind that the mall and businesses are all nestled up beside the Westside Road interchange anyway and it makes it even more silly.

Sneena Road should simply be redirected down toward Campbell Road and be done with it, or for that matter possibly even make it another merge with Hwy 97, though we know how well area drivers grasp the concept of a merge, so no doubt directing traffic toward the interchange would be wiser.

Oh and in so far as "connecting WIB lands" goes, call me odd but I'm pretty sure that the two existing new interchanges accomplish just that, and in a sufficient manner. Just because someone wants something, doesn't make it a necessity.
