Lotsa Wind

Post by canadman »

Up here in West Kelowna Estates we're getting pounded by some pretty strong winds. Always windy up here, but tonight some of the worst wind I've seen up here. Anyone else getting hammered?

Got blasted all night and this morning in Lake View Heights.
Sounds like a hurricane.

It's been stressing my dog like crazy since about 3am! She is still pacing around with her tail between her legs.

Opposite for my dog - wants to go out and bark at everything that's moving (which is just about everything).

I was woken up several times over night due to howling heavy winds all night long. At one point I was worried about the trees coming down on the roof.

No worry of trees coming down where we are in SL but man, it sure was loud. Freight train loud.

As long as it does no damage I love the wind. I think it is inherent in those who spent part of their earl life on the Canadian Prairies. Probably like the sound of the ocean to those born on the coast.

Wk Estates is windy all the time, even in summer!! I grew up on the prairies and I loathe the wind. I remember one spring, the wind blew hard and incessantly for weeks and weeks on end. Then one day in late May, all of a sudden the wind stopped. All the cows fell over!!

I won't even do yard work in the wind. I loathe it too. Too many times I've had to get myself around Kelowna in howling cold wind and the memories to not fade.

We got tonnes of junk blown over from the construction site. Gotta go and play "pick up."

There's no doubt its been very windy and very warm for January. Part of my fence got taken out by a dead branch that fell last night. Surprisingly it wasn't even a very big branch that did it, but my fence is quite old and weak. My driveway is full of leaves and garbage which blew in from who knows where. I was even able to put an entire newspaper back together with pages that were scattered on my front lawn. Anyways, this wind could just cease and desist right now and I'd be totally fine with that.

I have visions of garbage cans being blown down the street - hope not.

Really windy out right now, it's fun to listen to the leaves blow while you fall asleep!
