Peachland becoming crime capital of Okanagan?

Post by matai »

What's wrong with this town lately? Everytime we hear of Peachland in the news it's bad.

Suspicious home fire last week, shooters at Headwaters Lake last weekend, now abandoned dogs in the woods:

The SPCA says it has learned that owner of the dogs is an American citizen who uses them to hunt bears
Doesn't appear to be abandoned dogs if they didn't find any.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Supicious doesn't mean much. Nothing proven.
The dog thing could all be the result of a legal bear hunt. Nothing proven.
Anywhere with great access to the bush areas are going to be frequented by idiot partiers.
Nothing to see here.

rotten smell is there though.

Vandalism also plagues the town regularly... not to mention the suspected child pornographer, juvenile murderer, grown ups & everything else.

If we compare population for population, one murder in Peachland equals 26 in Kelowna (5,000 pop vs 130,000).

A few things.
Headwaters is not in Peachland
An American hunting in the bush is not part of Peachland.
There are pedophiles all over.
The girl that was killed and the atacker lived elsewhere.

Every small town has it's oddities. Peachland is no different. If you choose your acquaintances well, you will have a lovely life in a lovely location.

Wait a second. That principle applies in every community, large or small.

Last year reports had crime low in Peachland.

Just because you are more aware of crimes doesn't mean that crimes have gone up.

Would be interesting to know more recent stats.

Is just that so many things are happening there lately, including the charges of child porn, which is also a crime.

But how does that compare to other small towns? Or by per capital to other OK cities & towns?
