Westside Daze now underway but Premier Clark nowhere on site

Post by okanagan_sports »

It was one of the largest and most well attended Westside Daze parades in years. But, the Premier of BC was nowhere to be seen !

Has anyone in West Kelowna noticed that our MLA for West Kelowna, the Honorable Christy Clark, was conspiciously absent from Saturday's Westside Daze Parade, as well as the 2014 Westside Daze festivities, generally.

All of the politicians were there, except her.

It could be said that the Westside Daze parade is perhaps the single, most identifiable event of West Kelowna, next to the West Kelowna Warriors hockey club.

Could we assume then, that other than using the District of West Kelowna for her own political gain, last year, (i.e. to obtain a seat in the legislature). Ms. Clark has no real emotional stake in this community.

It's not just a single event. I've never seen Ms. Clark here in the community for any purpose other than political. No one has ever seen her shopping in Westbank, gassing up here, or even BREATHING in West Kelowna !

Why do you think that is ? LOL

We know that she prefers to stay at the Grand Hotel in Kelowna for all of her accomodation and hall rental needs.

What wrong with renting The Cove, Best Western, Holiday Inn Express or a high end West Kelowna hotel for that purpose.

Bottom line ? You, the voters of West Kelowna, were deceived.

I think that this community should reject any future politician who wants to get elected, unless they can show that they actually have an emotional stake in this community.

That goes for the 2014 DWK municipal elections, as well.

West Kelowna has a high-end hotel?

Do people actually think/believe otherwise?

Ah, democracy. Where everyday average people make their political decisions not based on facts and logic, but politicians' attendance at some small town festivities like Westside Days.

Hate to spoil a perfectly good rant but the riding that Premier Clark represents is not "West Kelowna", it is "Westside - Kelowna" which happens to include all of downtown Kelowna and thus the Grand is one of the hotels within the riding she represents.

If it makes you feel any better (doubtful as you obviously have an agenda) she does maintain a residence in West Kelowna.

Ever heard of West Kelowna's The Cove Lakeside Resort ? It's a "three diamond hotel" the last time that I checked !

Well, her constituency office is based in downtown West Kelowna and also, West Kelowna represents a large chunk of her riding, not to mention, the territory of Westbank First Nations.

Therefore, it is a significant riding.

The purchase of the home in West Kelowna was just another b.s. ruse to cover up the fact that the "other" home in the Lower mainland is where she spends most of her time.

She's hardly interested in this area, except to give out government corporate handouts.

When she does do the rare press conference here in West Kelowna, like at Volcanic Hills Wineries last year, a West Kelowna heckler shows up out of nowhere and crashes her party !

The end result is a less than happy "Shifty" Clark ! LOL

To fully appreciate facts and logic in politics, first, one must learn how to spell "Westside Daze."

It's quite obvious that you live in Kelowna or are Premier Clark's gardener! LOL

And why is she renting hotels at all, doesn't she owes a home in there? As for her office, im pretty sure shes required by law to have one in her riding LOL. but either way, its just an empty shell sitting there, like a melting chocolate bunny standing in the sun. She should open it and provide shelter fir the homeless. Its empty all the time anyways and paid for by taxpayers.

Any detailed reports available on how many dazes she spent in her riding, vs vancouver, vs victoria, vs europe in her first year as west k mla?

Matai, you're too damn funny !

Maybe we should have a Shifty Clark ABSENTEEISM METER, which counts how many days she's been physically outside of West Kelowna.

If the Shifty meter shows that she hasn't been here in over 60 days, then the MLA for "Westside Kelowna" should be recalled due to flagrant absenteeism !

If she holds a press conference in West Kelowna and a heckler shows up, then she gets a 30 day BONUS credit on her absenteeism account. LOL

Previous winners of the "Absenteeism Award for Political Deception" include: Ruth Ellen Brosseau of the Federal NDP Party, Michael Ignatieff of the Liberal Party of Canada and the former Premier of Alberta, Allison u know who !
