Three years ago I found a small dog in extreme distress locked in a car in CanTire parking lot.
I didn't think twice.
I used a spring loaded center punch I happen to use often in my line of work.
I took out a side window, then put my own dog's water bowl on the driver's seat.
I then drove far enough away to see but remian unseen.
The witnesses that saw what I did applauded my actions.
I made the call and sat and watched as the RCMP and SPCA both showed up quite promptly.

If I am ever in that predicament again, I will without hesitation do the same thing.
Screw the rules when a life is on the line.

If you are so proud of what you did, why did you leave? Why not stay and bask in your glory with the police?

The other side of the coin; yesterday morning I saw one lady tell another arriving at her vehicle that she could report the her for leaving her dog in the car with no windows open. Owner of the SUV pointed out that the sunroof was completely open and it was a cloudy morning and likely not even 20C out. SUV owner was from Alberta, I told her after the complainer left that there are too many people with too much time on their hands in this neck of the woods.

If this is a concern of anyones; feel free to apply some common sense.
