I mentioned this in a previous post regarding the Mission Greenway. If we have to pick up our dog's tiny *bleep* why do we have to dodge around these enormous piles?

Don't bother complaining about it. You're just going to get the old "horse crap is manure" and "dog poop is not" debate, which is exactly how these sorts seem to justify their actions.

If it looks like crap and if it smells like crap - it's crap, no matter how beneficial it is to your roses.

I think some people should stay closer to the city.

This has been brought up many times in the past and the reasoning is that Horse manure will break down rapidly on it's own whereas Dog droppings won't.

And no I don't agree with it being left in an area where people frequent. In that case it should be picked up.

Or horse owners should clean up after themselves within city limits

Just pick it up and throw it at them. That will teach them.

If you happen to have a flower garden just take home & add to it (horse manure not the dog poop...lol).

Throw it at them and they'll stop pooping, eh?

Horses are smarter than most people. I think they would just accept it from where it came from and keep on walking. And pooping.

Anyway, I'd rather have a horse poop on my sidewalk than some two-legged vermin hawk a loogie on it. Seems to be a common disgusting habit of many these days.

Whenever I rode my horse on the green way I picked up after him every single time. We always carried a small garden shovel in our backpacks so that if they went on the trail we could pick it up and throw it into the bushes and if we were on the road we scooped it into a grocery bag and took it back with us. Poop is poop in my opinion. I wouldn't want to step in it either.

Used to be all rural and so many horses. I've never seen horses on the sidewalk up in that area but maybe horse owners could be encouraged to use the bun-bags (diapers)?

And I think the bun bags are intended for the horse, not the horse owner. :)
