Glenrosa Traffic Calming Options Open House
Wednesday, October 8, 2014 6 to 8 PM
Glenrosa Elementary School Gymnasium
3430 Webber Road

This Open House will provide residents with an opportunity to review proposed traffic calming options stemming from a traffic calming study and public consultation conducted in May of this year.

Residents can also view the conceptual plans and complete the survey on the District’s website http://www.districtofwestkelowna.ca from October 8 to 14, 2014.

District of West Kelowna staff will be available at the meeting, as well as the District’s traffic consultant, to address any questions or concerns residents may have.
A survey will be available to collect feedback and measure community support.

More brilliant planning! Build a school near an arterial commuter road and then calm the traffic which will only result in more future traffic snarls. Just like Boucherie and Elliot. Multi million dollar renovations and not 1 single vehicle higher occupancy in fact Elliot has now become a nightmare to get out of the save on foods busy times because there is only 1 lane now when there were 2. Just brilliant! Thanks council and planning people but maybe leave the streets alone, you just mess them up.

The point is to slow traffic down which is a good thing around schools and residential areas.

Lucky Glenrosa! Sure would be nice to see something like this happen around Rose Valley school/ West Kelowna Estates. Just watching loads of cars speed by with no regard for the school zone or the safety of the pedestrians in the area. A dangerous and common scene here when the highway gets backed up.

Webber road and McIver road are a joke. Speeding and reckless/distracted driving is the normal. No sidewalks and schools on both roads. The cops fish at the bottom of the webber hill once in a blue moon. Try speed traps where it is easy and necessary to slow vehicles down

I'm surprised it has taken this long to get traffic calming in the area.

Glenrosa needs sidewalks badly.

Great start - speed bumps may help.

This is what they need. Every ten feet in school zones. Nothing else will work. The ones by Shannon Lake Elementary are feeble.

You hit the nail on the head Mexi!! Blows me away how disrespectful the drivers are around schools once they've dropped their own little darlings off. Many seem to not give a rats behind for others safety.

We should try the hologram child ploy that the Illinois police used and I hope still do.

It is a projected hologram of a young child who darts out into the street after a ball.

It scares the bejabbers out of the driver who is targeted and hopefully makes a lasting impression on them.

This would work great in a school zone.
