Gas thief on the prowl

A serial gasoline thief who drills and drains gas tanks is apparently operating in Kelowna.
An Upper Mission resident told Castanet that the tank on his full-sized Ford pickup was drilled into sometime Wednesday night and about two-thirds of a tank of gasoline drained.
The victim, who prefers not to be identified, said he discovered the theft when he noticed his truck sputtering and the gas gauge on empty.
When he was re-filling the tank, “it just started pouring out the bottom.” He investigated and found an approximately half-inch hole drilled in the bottom of the plastic gas tank.
He notified RCMP, who said he was the first to report such a theft.
He took his truck to Orchard Ford for repairs.
Orchard Ford service manager Sean Nelson confirmed Saturday that there were at least two reports, but another member of the department was dealing with the reports and “there could have been more.”
Nelson said the two reports he knew of were from the Mission Hills area and from Sarsons Road.
Kelowna RCMP is investigating.
Nelson said the 2 reports were 1 from Mission Hill the other from Sarsons Rd area, 2 different reports.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Really? Mission Hill Winery?
Or this place, in the Upper Mission and not to far from Sarsons Rd.

They've since edited their story...it stated that this was happening in West Kelowna several times in the original version.
And yes indeed, the Mission Hills area is in the Mission.

Yet another reason why small cars are a better choice than full sized pickup trucks in today's world. Getting under my little hatchback to drill the wee tank would not be worth the time and trouble to any criminal. Not condoning the theft, I hope they catch the guy(s) responsible.

It wasn't so much a mystery as surprise that a story with so many major errors could make it to the front page and past editing
