Poem on BC humidity
water
crystal droplets, smashing, gleaming, shatter on the rocks
washing bits of dirt and sand and saturating moss
dancing droplets seeking freedom, leap from bluffs they lace to life
til at once they reach the ground, their freedom once more lost
creeks and brooks mesh forming rivers, racning t'ward the promised land
in a torrent rushing hmeward, urged by nature's mighty hand
all at once they reach the homeland, salt-soaked droplets wash the sand
now a home for shells and starfish, crushing freedom's final stand
the global torchlight reaches earthward, draining precious life away
dieing droplets floating skyward, salty crystals must remain
dust and moisture fix together, liquid pendants hang on high
til at once they well and sprinkle, once more giving life a try
crystal droplets, smashing, gleaming, shatter on the rocks
washing bits of dirt and sand and saturating moss
dancing droplets seeking freedom, leap from bluffs they lace to life
til at once they reach the ground, their freedom once more lost
creeks and brooks mesh forming rivers, racning t'ward the promised land
in a torrent rushing hmeward, urged by nature's mighty hand

dieing droplets floating skyward, salty crystals must remain
dust and moisture fix together, liquid pendants hang on high
til at once they well and sprinkle, once more giving life a try

not sure of gender so can't say sir or ma'am, but tyvm ... i wrote it in the early 80's and have it banked in my head with all the other useless stuff one picks up over time...
my mind has been called many things... just last week i was told i had a sexy mind... it's absolutely amazing how many polite ways some people can use to tell me i'm full of shh... useless information

Re: Poem on BC humidity
actually, i had a friend , a musician, who had asked me to write lyrics about water...
i took it upon myself top write a body of work about the cycle of water without using the word water
i must say, national geographic, roget's thesaurus and the oxford concise were most helpful
we had cowritten a song at age 16/17 for a local battle of the bands... at the time i was influenced alot by styx and yes... so we wrote a song about a prostitute... ambitious for a teen from a small town... through naive eyes, but it won the contest... so he presented me with this challenge of water...
in answer to your question?... i have... but they were bad love poems from an indulgent affair that never came to be... and i have little wish to revisit them... i will try to find a short story i wrote her in chat one night... anyone with children may enjoy it

Very nice poem! Quite enjoyed it. Could you come visit Ontario and write a poem about our nasty humidity?
