Where to find Ornamental Grasses

Post by anniecat »

Hey all of you fantastic forum gardeners!! Does anybody know where I could find a good selection of ornamental grasses? In particular I'm looking for some of the larger pampas grass varieties. Both nurseries on the westside only seem to carry smaller varieties and not a very exciting selection at that!

Now don't drive up there just because I said so, but check into it...

Buckerfields in Salmon Arm has a large variety of grasses and plants from what I saw :bethecoffee:

Did you try Art Knapp on Benvoulin Rd ?

I was fortunate to have a friend splitting their plant which had gone to about 3 feet accross. I was able to make 3 plants and they are each growing with 12 or more sprouts, now over a foot high. They grow to 12 feet plus, depending on soil.

Thanks guys! No, I haven't tried Art Knapps yet....one place I didn't even think of!! And it just so happens I'll be driving through Salmon Arm in the next month to take my kids to the Enchanted Forest so I'll stop on my way through.

So, thanks again for the suggestions! :sunshine:

The Flower Farm on Spiers Road (East Kelowna) has a nice selection, you could give them a try.
