My turkey "Tony" died today :o(
I don't know why,I found him in the chicken coop, which he never goes in.
I could tell he wasn't doing well before hand, just sitting there panting.
The female was around him pecking at his head and standing on his neck!?!
They have a life expectancy of around 10-12 yrs.He was 4.
Very strange.
As a consequence I hosed out the coop, dusted all the birds and spread "red earth" all over the place.

Tony was a good-looking bird. You'll have to get another one so it can race Jackson up 'n down the pen.

What did you dust the birds with nick? Was the DE you used food grade?
Pity he died. Your hen will be so out of sorts.

ff it's chicken mite powder I dust them regular, but this time I dusted everything just to be thorough.
Not sure if the DE is food safe it's from Buckerfields as is the powder.
I wear a respirator and disposable coveralls when applying.
Yes the hen is out of sorts she is already hanging around the Silkie rooster.

They're like Dinosaurs and have the coolest low pitch rumble when you pet them.
The potential for disembowelment is high though.
