Toothpick Sculptures
Stan Munro's fascination with building things out of toothpicks began when he was in Grade 5. “It began as an art project,” he said. And since then it has taken over his life. Munro, who makes his home in Syracuse, N.Y., has fashioned many of the world’s monuments, towers and temples from toothpicks.
Munro’s hobby turned into an all consuming passion about the same time his wife got sick with polycystic kidney disease. She needed daily dialysis and he had to be home to help her.
Since his wife has had a double transplant, he’s not sure what the future will bring, but he knows he will continue to build replicas with toothpicks.

Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
