Some are useful everyday items like tables and chairs that seem simple enough to put together even with rudimentary carpentry skills. Many are ultra chic design masterpieces! You will see birdcages, staircases, bookcases, sofas, shoe racks, coffee tables, office furniture, patio decks, compost bins, planters, kids furniture, beds, dog houses, play houses - and yes, even real houses!

I just built a composter (with friend help) a week ago Saturday and theortically they'd be a quick fence if you needed one!

I've used pallets for years now. My current fence is made from pallets, complete with an arbor over the gate (another pallet).

I have a friend who built an 8x12 shed out of pallets. He collected them and dismantled them over the winter, sorted all the various kinds and dimensions, then over the following spring and summer he built the shed. It has a locking door (recycled), two windows (recycled) and a shed-style roof (also from recycled materials). The only things he bought new were the nails and the cement to sit it on.

Our chicken coop is particale made from pallets and an old cedar fence.....Hubby took apart cedar pallets and used it as siding for our shops.
