Kelowna ReStore opens doors
by Adam Proskiw - Story: 89300
Mar 24, 2013 / 9:02 am

The Habitat for Humanity Kelowna ReStore opened its doors to the public today. Manager Neil Smith planned a quiet, low-key opening at 9:00 o’clock this morning, but with the first customer showing up before 7:30 and a crowd forming in the parking lot by 8, the opening was anything but quiet.

“So many people have told me they have been waiting for a ReStore to open in this area for a long time.” Smith remarked. “They’ve shopped at ReStores in other places and are happy that we have opened in the Okanagan.”

Shoppers snapped up bargains on building materials, furniture and home improvement items. The proceeds from the ReStore support Habitat for Humanity Kelowna and its mission to build affordable housing.

The ReStore is open Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Donations are also accepted from both businesses and private donors during those hours.

The ReStore is located in the Crockford Centre Mall, at 1793 Ross Road, kitty corner from Byland's Nurseries, near Hwy 97 and Bartley in West Kelowna.

A grand opening is planned for April.

We plan to check it out during my time off. Can't wait to get some projects going here.

ReStore is closed Sun/Monday. And most of Easter. We'll go tomorrow.

Just say "NO" to frozen stuff.

ReStore - Winners - Bulk Barn - Five Guys Burgers before you head home.

And you can pick up the cannoli tubes.

You've got to be kidding? Let Mrs S loose in the Bulk Barn and you'll have a couple of hours free time.

You've got Home Depot, Canadian Tire and Staples you could check out.
