New Deck

Post by Shawner »

We refinished our cedar deckboards last year by sanding them down to bare wood and staining with a semi-transparent stain. It didn't wear as well as we'd hoped, starting to get slivers coming up and the stain didn't seem to take as well in some spots (decking is older), especially in the spots where it's in the hot sun for most of the day.

Has anyone done their deck lately? If so, couple questions.....

- what material did you use and how much did it cost per sq ft?
- what material holds up best in the hot sun?

Thanks

Where did you purchase your stain? How much a gallon?
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?
